If you are a fan of Ettusais Skincare or you have been following the ambassadors’ blog for some time, you would know of Ettusais 3 steps cleansing regime: Cleanse -> Soften up -> Moisturize
My friends would ask me, “What about toner!? Wouldn’t your pores enlarge?”
Well, many girls are concerned with pores, especially on the nose and cheek areas. Enlarged pores can be caused by squeezing of acne and the unsaturated fatty acid in excess sebum.
Now, let Ettusais Pore Care Wash come to the rescue!

The way to combat enlarged pores is to banish dirt, be gentle with your skin and hydrate it well.
And the all-new Pore Care Wash equips itself with all of the above!
See me in action:

[Banish Dirt] The ultra fine foam lifts away impurities (unsaturated fatty acid) and fights acne with AC control oil.
[Gentle to Skin] It is extremely important to whip up thick creamy foam so that there is no friction on your face as you cleanse. Friction causes unnecessary stress to your skin, causing it to sag and enlarge the pores.
[Hydrates] With jojobar oil, it corrects and conditions rough skin. Plus the AC control oil forms a light and thin veil over the skin, ensuring the skin stays moisturized and protected!

After cleansing our face, remember to soften the skin with Version Up so that our skin is prepped for absorbing the most moisture from Aqua Shooter!

I have been using it for 2 months and there’s still 1/3 amount left in the bottle. I supposed each bottle could last for 3 months. The Pore Care Wash performs as well as the Gentle Wash and I noticed that it reduced my blackheads too! Although it may take a few times to master the foaming technique, but practice makes perfect!
Ettusais Pore Care Wash is retailing at $30. Do visit http://ettusais.sg or check it out in stores:

My last night in Singapore before leaving to Shanghai.
The choice was Jaan at Swisshotel. It was an initimate setting with not more than 15 tables.
Swirling the rosé wine in our glasses, such in luck that they have rosé.
And toast to a good internship in Shanghai.

We opted for the degustation set.
Starting off with Amuse Bouche. Prawn sashimi with (I think) plum sorbet.
The combination may sound weird but the taste was amazingly compatible.
We knew it would be an enjoyable evening.

“Fogotten vegetables” autum version, ocean trout confit in citrus oil, arbequina olive oil sorbet.
I do wonder why it’s named “forgetten vegetables”.
All the pieces came in mini-size, so exquisite that I spent some time admiring the symphony and I didn’t know where to start. When I went on the first piece, Kelvin was already half-way through. And we have fun guessing which one was the olive oil sorbet.

Grilled tuna belly, smoked basil oil and aromatic charcoal powder.
Nothing can go wrong with Otoro, simply wonderful.

In the menu, it wrote “Truffle or Foie Gras upon arrival”.
To our delight, it was truffle and foie gras. The strong rich truffle mousse totally blew me off. And the pairing with foie gras sandwiched with the crisp is just so awesome. (oh no, I’m craving for it now….)

Marbie body baked in salt crust, “Emilie” crab bouilion and its crispy rissole.
One word – “Fresh”!

Slow roasted “Pre sale” lamb saddle, wild rice carbonara and liquidized sweet peas.
This was slightly anti-climax. The previous dishes were probably too outstanding.
This one didn’t shine out much. We still love the lamb racks in Bangkok Central.

Pre-Dessert – Brandied Cherries

Dessert de la Saison – rich chocolate cake. So yummy.

Le Petit Fours – the berries popsicle coated with white chocolate is so refreshing.
Such a great dinner. I would love to be back for another round.

Oh well, i’m missing Kuriya and Wahiro.
And the Tanjong Pagar mee sua and chendol.
Plus my mommy’s cooking….

The one thing that I practice religiously here – is applying lip balm.
With the cold chilly weather, my lips just go dry easily. Having in mind, I prepped myself with different lip balms to fight the dryness. But none of them is able to perform – I constantly find myself applying the balm every hour.
Although I’m here on my own, I still want my lips to look moisturized and highly kissable! Haha.
So, Ettusais is so sweet to send me the “Ultimate Kiss Kit”!
I was really excited as I have heard so much about Ettusais Lip Essence! Some of the ambassadors are great fans of it.
See what I’ve gotten -> the Lip Essence and the new Lip Essence (stick)!
Plus, the guide to using the ultimate kiss kit:

First up, take some refreshing sweets to freshen up the breath! You don’t want your target to smell what you had for lunch/dinner.
Follow on, apply Ettusais Lip Essence. I’m trying out the all new Lip Essence (stick)!

The usual Lip Essence comes in a tube with the gloss effect.
(psst. they have increased the amount from 8g to 10g!)
Whereas for the stick version, it gives a matte finishing and yet a rosy glow from beneath – super natural!

Our lips don’t produce sebum and have low natural moisturizing function as compared to our skin.
The secret to have pretty pink lips is good blood circulation!
Ettusais Lip Essences are made with an ingredient – glucosyl hesperidin, which helps to promote blood circulation, in turn giving us moisturized lips.
Hmm… I wonder if it helps by massaging my lips. Lol. I think I will save the trouble and just kiss more often.
Besides the moisturizing effect, the lip essences are also equipped with SPF 18 PA++ to fight out UV rays.
After moisturizing your lips, you need some target practice – Practice makes perfect!

Hmmm…. I don’t fancy any of them though. i want Takashi. lol.

And now, you are all ready to find the hot guy and give a good smooch!
Too bad there isn’t any eye candy for me in the office.. awww….
But I’m glad that my lips are well-moisturized through the day!
think I better get Kelvin to help me buy another set when he comes up to see me n 2 weeks’ time! (yay!)

Part 2 of Christmas – A trip to Malacca.
We set off for malacca early in the morning on Christmas Day and took 4hrs to arrive at Majestic Hotel.

I was awed by the architecture and design of the whole hotel.
The room was love at first sight. The decor gave me a warm fuzzy comfy feeling~
They took care of every single detail. We were led to our room by the counter staff and they prepared hot tea for us.

bathtub! my favourite.

Bath salts!

super comfy bed… just wanna sink into the white sheets and fluffy pillows.

The main purpose of the trip was to relax. It’s been a hectic year for both of us.
So we headed down to the spa village for a pampering treat! =)

The waiting area…

Looking out was the swimming pool..

Majestic Malacca belongs to YTL group.

A relaxing moment…

A cold towel and a mandarin to start off the refreshing experience..

Happily waiting…

We chose the high-tea promotion which includes 50 minutes spa plus a 30 minutes hair ritual & high tea session at a special price.
And we upgraded to the signature experiences – a total of 3 hours.
Kelvin took the Suam-Suam Panas which is a warming spa while I went with the cooling Shiok-Shiok Sejuk.
Suam-Suam Panas includes:
- Palm Sugar and Honey Body Scrub
- Nutmeg Rice Rolling Massage
- Pandan Coconut Hair Mask
- Bird’s Nest Facial with Fermented Tapoica Mask
Shiok-Shiok Sejuk includes:
- Yoghurt Guava Leaves Body Scrub
- Egg Rolling Body Therapy
- Limau Kasturi Yoghurt Hair Mask
- Bird’s Nest Facial with Star Fruit Mask
The whole session started off with the complimentary hair ritual.
We were told that it’s a tradition for the bride and groom to go through this ritual before getting married.
It’s actually a hair cleansing wash.
The yoghurt guava scrub surprised me, I had no idea that guava leaves are rough.. While the egg rolling therapy was unique. The hard-boiled eggs were kept in the steamer to maintain the warmth. The star fruit mask was funny as they used the real fruit! The starfruit was sliced and laid all over my face. lol.
I felt so relax throughout the session that I was asleep most of the time.
After we were done, we went over to the library for our high-tea.

Don’t you just love the whole paranakan style?

The jasmine flowers pin was a gift from the spa, a sweet ending to the whole experience.

I ordered Passion Fruit Tea… *smells great*

The high-tea selection served. The sandwiches were excellent!!
Although it was the usual smoked salmon and egg mayo, but it just tasted great. The softness of the white bread with the right ratio of ingredients and sauce. *yummy*!

We ended the high-tea at 7pm, almost time for dinner. ha. We went out of the hotel, did some shopping and explored the non-touristic part of Malacca.
We chance upon a marvellous seafood place. Ordered steam crab, frog legs and vegetables.
The crab was out of the world – that absolute freshness & sweetness – it’s even better than the taraban kani and only at a fraction of the price. *bleams*
The following day, we did a short dip at the pool and went for the breakfast.

It was a semi-buffet style with warm orders aside.
I took poached eggs on satueed potato..

The waffle with blueberry confit and thick cream, dripped with butterscotch sauce was thumbs up!

The total awesome one was the pancakes with caramelized banana, thick cream and butterscrotch sauce. I couldn’t stop myself from taking one bite after the other. I really wanted a 2nd serving but I told myself to take it easy. Got that weight of mine to watch yeah.

So the 2day 1 night ended off and we drove into johor for more shopping and food.
The whole trip was wonderful. Though it’s just malacca and johor, and only for a short 2 days, we had a good mix of experience and got ourselves loosen up.
I don’t want 2009 to end but I guess, there’s only a few more hours left.
Alright, time to head out. Gonna be counting down with the russians. Hope I don’t get drunk! lol.

Last week, we attended Kuriya’s Penthouse Grand Opening at Orchard Central.
we have been patrons of Kuriya for almost 2 years! It’s good to see them injecting new ideas into the market and expanding. I’m pretty excited about one of their new plans for next year. Hopefully I will be around to attend the opening!

Located at the top floor with contemporary decor, Kuriya Penthouse spells a twist to the traditional Japanese restaurants.

Emcee for the event was Benedict Goh!

Top quality sake barrel imported from Japan…

The serving wooden cups…

one, two, three and go~ i loved the sake, smooth and sweet. *slurps*

Everyone beamed at the free flow of food.

Food was needlessly to say – Excellent!
hohoho… the toro sushi was heavenly!

Side dishes – tofu, japanese yam, grilled cod fish..

Master Chef: Koezukan-san.

Japanese musicians… They did a collaboration and cut an album named “Kuriya”.

it’s so rare to see and hear them nowadays..

Award-winning bartender from Japan performing… he’s really good at his tricks!

green, yellow, orange cocktails.

The whole team from Kuriya Raffles City moved to Penthouse.
Love them all! Always providing the best service.
With Paul, Manager.

If you have not check out the Chocolate Research Facility, you’re missing out big time!

They have got a whole range of chocolates, from the original ones with different cocoa percentage to alcohol series, nut series, fruit series and exotic ones like cheese chocolate!
Of course, my favorite flavor has gotta be Lychee Martini! *bleams*
I bought one of the autumn winter series: Caramel with Sea Salt.
Reminds me of La Duree’s caramel macaron!

It’s kinda pricey for a small block of chocolate but it feels good to pamper oneself in a while!
though it would be even better if the money didnt came out from my pocket.
they should start accepting AMEX credit card!! lol.

This is me after 2 lychee martinis, 7 tequila shots and not partying for months.

The drink that got me high: Tequila shots + Mexican mixture

The Mexican mixture was horrendous. Tomato juice + Lime juice + Tabasco.
YES, T-A-B-A-S-C-O. Couldn’t stand the taste! It was salty in the mouth and spicy at the throat.
Switched to lemon slices instead.
With hottie Inna!

Partying away at Stereo Lounge.

Thankfully for the party, I gotta try out Ettusais’ new limited edition makeup for this festive season!
I love my makeup! and his printed-on tuxedo tshirt. So cool yeah!

Christmas loots from Ettusais!

Platinum Star Gloss + Platinum Star Powder

The Platinum Star Gloss for the eyes – Available in PK, SV and GD.
I chose the PK and SV colors.

You must be wondering – Gloss for the eyes? I was shocked about it at first too.
But when I gave it a try, it surprised me! It has a really smooth texture and it’s so easy to spread on the eyelids. It contains pearl particles that gives out a brilliant shimmer and creates multi-dimensional look.
The blue looks so great!

I applied the Purple/Pink for the night-out. Pink on the whole lid, using fingers to spread it – so smooth and easy! Followed on, using the applicator, I lined the Purple along the end of my lashes.
The texture is really different from the other eye shadows. It doesn’t dry out on the lids but yet it was really lasting and didn’t fade off. I would strongly recommend for you to test out the effect and get yourself familiarize with the gloss before applying it out.
I strongly recommend Star Gloss in PK! Absolutely lovely – suit asian’s yellow-based skin best! It has made into my Ettusais Favourite List!
The other product by Ettusais – Platinum Star Powder
It’s a highlighting powder in soft pink, adds the radiant glow to your face with the ultra-fine pearl pigments!

The fluffy puff applicator is so cute! Dust the powder on your nose bridge and check bones to define your looks. It contains AC control oil that prevents blemishes, Jojobar oil that conditions the skin plus it has sebum absorbing powder. Total awesome-ness!
You can dust it on your shoulder blades too – for the extra sexy glow!
Heart-ing Ettusias!

Being an Ettusais ambassador, I’m constantly faced with the same old question – is Ettusais is really effective in treating acne?
I think the results are subjective to each individual.
First of all, you need to know the cause of your acne! For me, my skin is dry – lacks of moisture, which results into excess sebum production. Plus, I don’t drink much water and irregular sleeping hours. My skin needs a moisture boost to balance the moisture and oil levels.
Therefore, I go for the Moisture Up Formula for Aqua Shooter and Dry Block for my Whitening UV base and Zero Pore Pact.
After using the full range of products for a month, my skin did improved tremendously and I was totally free from blemishes.
Products include Cleansing Bar, Version Up, Aqua Shooter, Whitening UV, Zero Pore Pact
This was me in April/May with no makeup – No bumps or acne, just some acne scars from the past.

Follow on, I was travelling around. The new environments, time differences, change in lifestyle (external aggressors) gave me occasional bumps.
After trying out almost all the products from Ettusais, my 2 favourite ones has got to be the Skin Version Up Extra and Eye Zone Tinted Color Essence.
The Skin Version Up Extra replaces the toner. It preps the skin, allowing it to absorb the the full goodness of the moisturizer. I have not been using toner for close to a year and I find it perfectly fine.

The Eye Zone Tinted Color Essence helps to moisturize the eye area and also neutralize the dark eye rings. It doesn’t have a strong coverage but it’s enough for my daily coverage!

Since our skin reacts differently to different products. What I would recommend is to get some samples and test out the products. At Ettusais counters, they provide samples for almost every product, other than the colors in the makeup range.
These are samples of the basic skincare range: Gentle Make Off, Gentle Wash Cleansing Bar, Version Up and Aqua Shooter. It is enough to last 2-4 uses, depending on the sample.

Alternatively, you can purchase the trial. Especially if your skin tends to have reaction while switching between products. This would be great for you to test out over 5-7 days.

You can also get sample of the Zero Pore Pact. If you’re unsure of whether to get the Dry or Oil Block, you can try both out before getting the full size. Goes to the same for the Whitening UV Base.

Occasionally, Ettusais introduces promotion packs – Currently, you can purchase the refill Zero Pore Pack and receive the travel size Gentle Make Off and Whitening UV. Great chance to try out the products too!

Most importantly, don’t feel shy about asking for samples. The Ettusais beauty consultants are very friendly! Let them know your concerns. You can also arrange for an appointment to test out the products at the counters.
