East Hotel @ Taikoo

Accommodation plays a huge part in my travels. I would definitely opt for a friend’s place whenever possible as I believe that’s one of the ways to see city as it is.

We all know how packed Hong Kong is and how people live within tight spaces. Therefore, hotel was a necessary expense.

I’m glad we had chose a wonderful hotel for our short stay. Initially, I was turn off by the location of East Hotel – Taikoo, far east side of Hong Kong Island.

But when we arrived, I was more than pleased with it. =)

Firstly, it is easily accessible by the MTR with an exit just next to the hotel.

Secondly, the minimalist design gave a refreshing feel to the getaway.

Thirdly, the counter staff uses MAC book!

This is an art piece at the level we stayed. Looking closely, you will noticed that the graphics on the circles are actually photos! Eg: Apartment windows, clouds, leaves, bricks.

The only thing that dampen my spirits was the proximity of the public housing to the hotel. Take a peek through the blinds.

Lastly, my favourite of the hotel – outdoor bar!
Check out the captivating scenery in the evening!

TW Part 9: Hotel 73

I stayed at both Hui Chun’s place and a hotel during my holidays in Taiwan. I did not book in advance which limited the available choices but I am thankfully for it.

I would have stayed in a really budget hotel instead of this stylish boutique hotel -
Hotel 73 新尚旅馆.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and most importantly, they make an effort to recognize every guest. Their rooms are priced between $80-$120/night (after discount), which it’s absolutely a great deal.

There is a squarish spacious bathtub which is just excellent for couples! No need to squeeze into those small traditional ones anymore~

Did I mention that I love their breakfast!? Although it is unlike the scrumptious intercontinental spread in 5-stars Hotels, it has a own good selection of delicious dishes to kick start your morning. :)

And one more thing, the only disadvantage would be the location – 15 minutes walk away from the nearest metro station. But jolly well take it as an exercise to burn off those calories! Because Taiwan is more or less about eating, non-stop eating. :P
