Congee & Roast Meat

The best way to travel around HK is by MTR and by foot. Upon arriving at the airport, we got our hands on the airport express train and MTR cards. It’s so convenient!! :)

HK is truly a food paradise! After the check-in at East Hotel, they provided us a guidebook to eating places in the area. We went to check out this local 茶餐厅, located just a street away.

Piping hot congee with pork liver and kidney, plus an egg yolk. *slurps*

Ordered roast meat, roast goose and roast duck.

The roast goose is definitely 2 thumbs up!!

We visited this restaurant where I had been in my previous trip. It’s one of the 避风塘 franchise in Jordan.

I so love the roast duck kway teow soup!!! :D Although I felt that it tasted much yummier at my previous visit, but it’s still delicious. The soup broth is speechless~

We went for Dim Sum @ Paramount. You should not miss this! It has a great view and the dim sum are really good and at affordable price!

Cleaning the utensils with hot water – a local practice. I do wonder why.

I kinda pity this uncle. He has been sitting there before we arrive and he was still waiting for his friend when we left.  He even had tea poured for his friend. All he did was to sip some tea and gaze at the entrance.

Caffee Habitu. We liked the fonts and the combination of nude pink with black.

East Hotel @ Taikoo

Accommodation plays a huge part in my travels. I would definitely opt for a friend’s place whenever possible as I believe that’s one of the ways to see city as it is.

We all know how packed Hong Kong is and how people live within tight spaces. Therefore, hotel was a necessary expense.

I’m glad we had chose a wonderful hotel for our short stay. Initially, I was turn off by the location of East Hotel – Taikoo, far east side of Hong Kong Island.

But when we arrived, I was more than pleased with it. =)

Firstly, it is easily accessible by the MTR with an exit just next to the hotel.

Secondly, the minimalist design gave a refreshing feel to the getaway.

Thirdly, the counter staff uses MAC book!

This is an art piece at the level we stayed. Looking closely, you will noticed that the graphics on the circles are actually photos! Eg: Apartment windows, clouds, leaves, bricks.

The only thing that dampen my spirits was the proximity of the public housing to the hotel. Take a peek through the blinds.

Lastly, my favourite of the hotel – outdoor bar!
Check out the captivating scenery in the evening!
