Shopping Mission!

How’s the long weekend coming along? Mine was a blast starting from Friday! Did lots of shopping and had tons of good food~ <3

FashionFastForward sent us some awesome vouchers with awesome perks. If you’re the first 10 to use up all the vouchers, you will be rewarded with 10,000 F3 points!!! And do you know what that translates to? An awesome $400+ voucher~ *eyes open wide*

The promotion starts on the 4th and that happens to be Rina’s Birthday. What a perfect timing! Shopping spree on birthday~ <3

If you are a F3 member and have yet to receive the vouchers, just pop by any outlet with your member card to collect them. :)

Our stint started at 10:30am with Topshop, followed by Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Ben Sherman and back to Topshop. We managed to use up all the 8 vouchers at 1pm! Along the way, we were pretty worried as we saw some other girls carry MS and DP’s shopping bags while we were at our 1st stop. Thankfully, at our 2nd last stop Ben Sherman, the staff told us we still stand a chance be in Top 10. After making our purchase at BS, we rush off to Topshop again to use that very last voucher. Hehehe. We pray hard. *fingers crossed*

After 2+ hours of massive browsing, trying and walking, we settled at TWG for lunch. Been wanting to have tea there for the longest time ever but always had no chance to.

It was a friday afternoon and they were full house. (too many ‘tai-tai’s!) We had to wait for seats.

I opted for the lunch set while the girls chose Wagyu Burger.

Pan Seared Saddle of Lamb. The meat was just nice – tender and juicy. It went well with the potato pancake and sauteed spinach. It comes in 3 little portion which makes it more delicate. ;)

Wagyu Beef Burger accompanied with fries and fresh salad. The fries tasted like McDonald’s, in my opinion. The beef patty was normal.

Homemade Chestnut Entremet served with blackcurrant sauce infused with Earl Grey Tea. This chestnut sweetie didn’t impress me on the first bite but a few later. You can taste the light and aromatic sweetness of the chestnut, well-combined with the berries. <3

We surprised the birthday girl with a mini heart-shaped cherry mousse. The staff were really nice to sing her a birthday liner too! :)

My full lunch set cost $35++ with a main, a dessert and a tea.

Food is reasonably good but limited in selection. The teas and desserts are definitely 2 thumbs up. Hopefully I will get to go back for tea some time soon! :D

TWG Tea Salon & Boutique
ION Shopping Mall
2 Orchard Turn, #02 – 21

After the fulfilling lunch, we went on walking around Orchard.

<333 the girls.

Finally checked out the Smoky Palette from Make Up For Ever. I wanted to get it from Sephora US and after waiting for more than a month, Sephora emailed me saying it won’t be released. ahhhuh..

I was shocked when I saw the palette as it’s really tiny~ But the colors were so pretty! It’s retailing at $88 but the staff told me an Indonesian lady bought all of the 10 pcs that was left. Oh well, it’s either I travel to MBS outlet or probably get it from KL? Anyone going soon?

2-tone top – BKK chatuchak
candy skinny belt – oh! poupeé
maxi skirt – random shop
metal cuff – H&M

Amy bought this yellow circle stickers and I started drawing silly smiley faces on them! Amy says the one on top right looks “pa-jiao”. LOL.

Here’s my loots!

Scooter Tshirt from Ben Sherman –  Lace Dress, Wool Shorts, Accessories from Topshop, Diamond Design Tights from Dorothy Perkins. I also got a Yankee Candle diffuser from Takashimaya.

Have I told you how much I looooooveeeee Yankee Candles!? :D My favourite scent is Mistletoe and I got the diffuser as they didn’t have the candle ones. My room smells sooooo good now~

7 days in Taiwan

The girls and I went on to our very 1st holiday trip together to Taiwan.

A full 7-day trip and oh boy are we exhausted now.

We went to many places unexpectedly (by bumping into a very friendly tour guide) and it was an extremely fruitful holiday. So much so that we called up Tigerair to increase our luggage weight.

We checked-in a whopping 108kg!! Plus we all had hand-carry luggage..

Details and photos will be up soon! (:

Marmalade Pantry

I have been to this place almost 3 years ago and the sticky date toffee pudding left me craving for it all this while.

Oh yes, Marmalade Pantry, I’m back! I wonder what took me so long to make a return visit!

It was a highly anticipated affair for me. I had a list of dishes in my mind but to my disappointment, they served only the brunch menu on Sundays! (not too sure about Saturdays)

Battered Cod, Mushy Peas with Bacon Gribiche
This came with disappointment upon seeing the size of the fish. Also, it was too oily.

Steak Sandwich with wasabi mayonnaise, caramelized onions and rocket
Nothing to pick on. It’s worth a try. The vegetables chips were interesting.!

Crabmeat Linguini with pine nuts, tomatoes and chili
This is KING! We give it 10/10~ We loved it so much that we ordered another serving. :D

Sticky Date & Toffee Pudding with vanilla ice cream
The star for the night! The pudding is not exactly as what it means. The texture is very similar to sponge cake but denser and kinda melts in your mouth though. The sweets of caramel, date and toffee is just so excellent. The girls found the taste similar to ‘huat-kuai’ but nevertheless, find it irresistible too!

Here comes a lil’ surprise for the birthday girl~

Cinnamon Spiced Apple Cake with cream cheese frosting
The cream cheese frosting is soooo good. I love it on carrot cakes too.

À bientôt Ettusias

// updated with more photos

The Ettusais ambassadors met up for a dinner date @ Food for thought! 2010 had been a busy year for all of us and we hardly get to meet up. Even so, Sarah was tied up at work while Jayne fell ill. You girls are missed!

While waiting for our food, we played a game, supposedly a cool popular one in Japan! Ha.

All we did was drawing connecting lines without knowing what it leads us to~

After a few rounds, Sherry revealed that the connecting lines will lead us to our prizes! Yeah~ What’s a game without prizes!!! :D

Ta-da! Here’s mine. (:

With Fidelis & Jaceyln.

Here’s some of the gifts the girls got! The limited edition swirl sweet marble~

Eye masks! This is so cute~

Here’s my steak for the night. It’s pretty good!

Christine ordered profiteroles for desserts and oh boy, it came in a huge surprise!

My apple crumble. Not to my liking. I think the desserts are merely passable. You can always opt to go elsewhere!

With 2011, the Ettusais ambassador program has come to an end.

It will take on a new form for this year. You can follow Ettusais on Facebook for latest updates & surprises! I will continue to review on Ettusais and other brands as well. (: We had a sneak preview of this awesome product launching in April. Will talk about it when I get my hands on the product in April!

À bientôt Ettusias!

Flea @ Club Titanium

When HC told me about the flea @ Titanium, it got me puzzled where exactly is Titanium located within Esplanade area. I didn’t know DXO closed down and Club Titanium took over the building! Am I outdated or what! *bleh*

The flea took place last Saturday and we got a relatively spacious booth on the 2nd floor. We managed to piece up a rack on the left side, a cushion seat and laid our bargain stuffs on the ground..

If you noticed, I combed a center-parting for my fringe! Kinda feeling helpless towards my hair now. I need a haircut soon!

We sold our clothes at really cheap prices – $2, $5! And we clear almost half the lot. With some earnings in hand, I couldn’t resist the temptation of retail therapy. haha..

Look at these rings~ Loving the milky candied colors. Hurhur, the heart-shaped one is so unique and lovely! ;)

I couldn’t make up my mind for the tiled ring and so I bought both colors. Heh. Anyway, I think it looks good with 2 together. 1 seem too skinny.

After the flea ended, I met up with the girls for a feast at Humble House by Tung Lok. MJ had the $50 off $100 voucher and we ended up ordering many dishes!

It was stated outside the restaurant “No Photography” therefore being good girls, we didn’t dare to take photos of the yummy dinner. We ordered a few tapas, 2 main dishes and desserts (trying our best to hit the 100 mark. haha.)

It’s either we were really hungry or the food really taste good. But I must say the tapas impressed me! Especially the Deep Fried Lychee with Mango. Pieces of mango stuffed into lychees, coated with a layer of batter before dropping them into the hot wok of oil. The taste is surprisingly refreshing as opposite to the deep frying. Yummy!

Although we had desserts at Humble House, we still couldn’t resist MAX BRENNER!!! whoots!

Dark Chocolate SUCK-AO! Wheee~ My favourite chocolate drink.

Hot Thick Italian Chocolate Drink.

Chocolate Fondue! You know, I kinda miss Cheese Fondue.

The night ended off with a group photo. (:

I cannot believe I’m gaining weight at such a fast speed. I thought I had lost the chubbiness a few weeks ago (assured by the weighing scale and photos) but it seem like it has hunted me down again.. aggghhh..

hatched!

After hearing so much about this brunch place, I have finally nailed it this morning! :)

The characters are so funky!

We didn’t make a reservation and had to wait for about 10minutes. The place is famous to be packed on weekends~

We ordered a variety and first up was the waffle~

Next, the Sir Benedict. I like the runny eggs. hehhe. and the bacon taste great!

Smoked salmon omelette with toast and sauteed onion potatoes. Not to my liking.

Last, was the caramelized banana pancakes. We were kinda full when they served the pancakes. And check out the fluffiness of it! It’s really thick!

I guess it’s not a bad place for breakfast/brunch but too bad they don’t come in sets. Plus the drinks, I feel the pinch when paying the bill.

3 of us, 4 dishes + 3 juices = $20/pax.

Easy A

Amidst my busy schedule (it’s getting crazier each week!), I took some time off last night and caught the preview of Easy A with Amy.

One look at the poster and synopsis, it is easily one of those movies that I would have given it a miss.

But after watching the movie, I think otherwise. If you are one of those who enjoys comedies, I would strongly recommend Easy A. The humor is definitely far more witty than those lame jackass ones.

It all began with an unintentional lie that Olive said to her best friend and that story of losing her virginity spread through the campus like wild fire, with many more rumors running in.

I had a good laugh especially at the bedroom scene! Totally hilarious of them mimicking the act~ lol.

Rating: 3.5/5

I think Easy A will be out in the cinemas at end of this month. Here’s the trailer to whet your appetite!

And thank you Qais and Sony Pictures for the tickets. :)

On a side note, I love her corset!

sparkles on my cake

A very late post. Nevertheless, I had a great birthday dinner with the girls!

We settled for Korean BBQ which I had a craving since Shanghai (I couldn’t find a good Korean place comparable to this).

The appetizers. Kimchi~ Kimchi~

The BBQ meat. They have servers to do it for us. Heh.

We ended the meal with a nice hot seafood noodles soup.

Halfway through the meal, Amy said that she needed to leave earlier as she’s catching a movie and Rebec commented that she don’t mind going back earlier since there’s work the next day.

Okay, I felt really disappointed. But I’m understanding, if she really wants to spend some time her with boyfriend. So, they hurriedly left before desserts were served, while me and MJ continued with the meal.

I seriously did not detect any amiss. Everything went normally – we took the train back to Tampines. And upon stepping out from the control station, the surprise came. The 2 girls popped out in front of me with a bouquet of rose and a cake!

I was so shocked and surprised! :)

They prepared a sparkle stick as my birthday candle! There is no way to blow it off, so I could have as many wishes as the sparkle goes on? haha.

The lovely rose bouquet and the birthday ‘angpo’.

I love my girlfriends! Thank you for the specially planned surprise! :D

On a side note, don’t you find the Hello Kitty polaroid films extremely adorable!!! so kawaii~
Hello Kitty only weigh 3 apples. haha.

rise and shine

My birthday morning was spent with Serene @ Halia, Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Initially, we were deciding between Halia and Hatched for brunch. After reading the reviews, we concluded that Hatched won’t be a good chill-out place on a Sunday.

Halia was located somewhere in the middle of Botanic Gardens, within the Ginger Garden.

We were surprised to see an almost full house seating and waited at the entrance, to be served. However, after 10 minutes, none of the staff came to us. They were just busy serving the seated customers. I had to walk up to one of them to enquire about the available tables.

We sat indoors, by the full-height glass windows and had a greenery view.

Blue Cheese Mousse with bread dips.
Hur hur, I really liked this. Making the cheese into a mousse texture lightens the strong overpowering taste (to some people). The honey-coated walnuts surprisingly takes off very well with the cheese.

Poached eggs with Bacon. I love the combination of the melted butter and runny egg yolk drizzled over the bacon, tomato, spinach and thick toast.

The Cinnamon Toast was recommended on the menu but it was a disappointment for us. It was slightly bland and we didn’t like the fluffy toast.

We were totally bloated after the meal, with so much bread. The 3 dishes plus 2 hot drinks amount to almost $80!! A hefty sum for a weekend brunch.

Throughout the meal, we were constantly getting attacked by the flying insects and ants around our table.  For some reasons, they seem to only appear at our table.

Lash Diary Prelude

Last week, the ambassadors received this from Ettusais:

Poor thing, we have gotta help out in finding the Lost Lashes!

So the ambassadors gathered at the office this evening, and began the search for the Lost Lashes.

We were given a thorough brief by the Police woman on how did the lashes went missing. It was indeed an informative session and we were even horrified by some of the contents!

Next, we continued our hunt and chanced upon a treasure chest by following the path.

It’s a treasure filled with goodies for our eye lashes~

We were taught on how to take good care of our lashes and we made a Tender-Love-Care pledge for our lashes~

Here’s the ambassadors with their pledge! :D

So stay tune to my blog over the next 5 days for my Lash Diary entries! :)

Initially, we planned to treat ourselves to a good fine-dining dinner. However, the heavenly aroma and gorgeous looking food at Xin Guang San Yue’s food hall was just too tempting that we gave up the prior choice.

What’s smoking up in the box? :)

dimsum.birthday.shopping

Guangzhou event ended on Friday and I extended my return ticket till Saturday night.

I reckon I should head down Hong Kong for a day since i’m so near and therefore I grabbed a early morning train ticket.

Met up with the girls for Dim Sum brunch. I was frantically finding my way from the train to MTR and people there speaks mainly only Cantonese, which i’m poor at. Ended up, I spoke English to them and they replied in Cantonese. Luckily, I still made it to Causeway Bay safely. haha..
P1080243e

This dim sum place is totally awesome! Everything was good and yummy! =)
P1080244e

It was also Janice’s birthday! Shu Heng and Danielle got 2 slices of cakes and had to bargain for the candle. -_-”
P1080245e

bleaming away…
P1080249e

fooling around. haha…
P1080251e

Love you girls! :D
It was such a great brunch with you all! It definitely felt comforting meeting up out of shanghai and getting a break from work. wished I had more time in HK.
P1080247e

After brunch, the girls went off for their cycling trip while I spent the last few hours shopping!
Bought a pair of heels and a bag for myself + lots and lots of goodies from Qi Hua and Heng Siew.
The traditional biscuits and egg rolls are so yummy!

Once again, I rushed madly back to the train station. My train was scheduled to leave at 4:25pm and I hit the entry at 4:15pm. *phew*

After returning the Guangzhou, it took such a long time to clear the immigrations and it left me rushing again for my flight. -_-”

I’m heading back to Singapore tomorrow. I CANNOT WAIT TO BE BACK! :D
