I’m actually drooling for the Korean BBQ at Amara Hotel. :p

Initially, we planned to treat ourselves to a good fine-dining dinner. However, the heavenly aroma and gorgeous looking food at Xin Guang San Yue’s food hall was just too tempting that we gave up the prior choice.

What’s smoking up in the box?

A well-toasted cod fish sandwich on-the-go.

Check out the huge chunk of deep-fried cod fish with sweet tomato and fresh lettuce.

We ordered a grilled fish set from the Japanese stall.
the complimentary appetizer: a very wonderful fruit salad.

Chawanmushi – doesn’t lose out to Kuriya’s.

And here’s the main dish. The portion looks disappointing.
I find the appetizers and sides better.

Yes, the rain is such a spoiler.

We played the ring throwing game and the shooting game. I shot 8/20 and won myself 3 lightsticks. haha.

Afterwhich, Hui Chun headed home while I went down to Wu Fen Pu, the wholesale clothes market.

Sadly, there wasn’t much interesting stuffs. And the pricing weren’t reasonable.
Only managed to bag home this lovely nautical wedges.

I always loved buying wedges but they usually end up sitting in my shoe cabinet followed by the bin. I hope I will wear this pair out!

It’s well-known for the trendy Korean/Japanese shops and their ridiculous pricing.

Saw a Korean-imported lovely satin chiffon dress and it was $80.
$80 for a Korean-imported dress in the night market!!??

We queued for the 卤味 (stewed/braised food).

Took us 10 minutes to select the ingredients and 20 minutes for the serving.

Just a couple of items and it turned out to be such a huge bag of food.
Tofu, Intestines, Pig’s Blood Rice Cake, Vegetables, etc

Excited about the pig’s blood rice cake. Although it’s rated as the world’s most disgusting food by Europeans (London, i think).

The shop was packed with customers and we seek refuge at the beancurd store.
The beancurd is slightly different from Singapore, especially with the toppings they offered.

Holding the chopsticks in one hand and the spoon in the other, she can’t decide which to start on first. =p

The store allowed graffiti and signatures on their walls.

The braised/stewed food only was enough to stuff our stomachs full. We didn’t even managed to finish them!

Again, we went shopping! Bought those that are not-so expensive. Korean/Jap – inspired clothings.

Got my Maxi Dress, 2 tops, 1 outerwear and some accessories!

I have heard so much about it, seen so much on TV, and now, finally, the trip!

It was a rainy day. Luckily for that, it was less-crowded.

1st stop: XXL Chicken Cutlet

It’s REALLY huge~ Twice the size of those we get in Singapore. The crust is crispy while the meat is extremely juicy and tender.

2nd stop: Baked Potato with Cheese Sauce

Overflowing cheese sauce.. yummmmmmmy~

3rd stop: Meat Dumpling
I still like my Xiao Yang Meat Dumpling in Shanghai.

4th stop: Popiah Ice-cream with Peanut Shavings

Sorbet with caramelized peanut shavings wrapped in popiah skin.

5th stop: Crepes!

Hawaiian Crepe. We had a tough time preventing the corn from dropping all over the ground. haha.

6th stop: Fruits~

It’s so tasty and delicious! We had Original, Wasabi Chilli and Black Pepper ones.

The last stop was a traditional pastry, Ox’s Tongue Biscuit – Peanut and Sugar Malt.

And there we ended the night. I was extremely full despite resting halfway with shopping distractions. =p

I got the minced meat lunchbox! Heard and seen so much about Taiwan’s minced meat. heh.

& it’s super yummy!! love the pickles too~

Everything seems to fit back in place nicely, as if I had never left the country. Took the buses and MRT as usual, ran around to do my errands.

Me and Kelvin decided to have our usual Wahiro for dinner. They have moved out from Kallang Mall to Roxy Square.

Chef’s recommendation to us for tonight’s dinner..

Seasonal pick. We ain’t a fan of octopus and moreover, the full baby octopus.
It was good though, but it wouldn’t be on our fave. list. *it’s a little scary*

And dinner was just across the road.. Outdoor seating is simply wonderful.

I went to select the seafood for dinner.

I got cheated by this steamed egg sea urchin. There’s no flesh inside.

After dinner, we took a stroll along the river. The view just reminds me so much of Clark Quay/Boat Quay.

I did not expect it to be a windy night and therefore I was in thin layers. Jason was such a gentleman to give me his jacket, leaving himself with just the long sleeve shirt. To be real gentleman, action speaks louder than words. Very often, people just offer or say things for formality sake.

I sensed a tinge of jealousy from my boss the whole night as all attention was on Jason. Oh well, how can we be blamed. Comparing to someone much taller, younger, better looking and full of zest. haha. I think i’ve got an attention-seeking superior. =X

I went on to have drinks with Jason, while the rest headed back to the hotel. It was a good chat, knowing more about the advertising industry in china and general business relationships. In no time, we finished up a bottle of red wine and ended the day. Seriously, I wished I wasn’t on a work trip.
