We all dread OT but now, OverTime is here to redefine the meaning of ‘After Hours’!

I was invited to the Grand Opening of OverTime @ Dempsey Hill and this is not the only outlet. There’s another one at Holland Village plus 5 others in Malaysia.

OverTime has got very good beer! It’s called Starker Beer, available in Aromatic and Lager. I was told that the Starker beer is freshly brewed everyday! I personally prefer the aromatic one.

And here comes the fun part! With every barrel ordered, you get to hammer the pipe into the barrel!

After a long wait, Lin Chi Ling finally arrived at OverTime! She does look exactly like on screen. She’s like a real life barbie doll! My eyes were fixed on her the whole time! I totally regretted not bringing my DSRL to take photos……..

How does a picnic out in the park on a Saturday evening sounds? With an outdoor movie screening. Plus you get to do your part to support a cause

‘All the Ladies!’ campaign is having a movie + picnic fundraising event on 30th October at Fort Canning Park, from 5:30pm till late.

‘All the Ladies!’ is a campaign by AfA to raise awareness about HIV/AIDs among women in Singapore.

I know what you are thinking:
- HIV/AIDs!? I don’t think I will ever get affected by it.
- This is Singapore, not many people are infected?

I always felt the same way too. I mean, how unlucky can we get? *touch wood*

But it is a fact that HIV/AIDs is a real issue that affects not only men, but also women in Singapore. ‘All the Ladies’ is a campaign by AfA that encourages I and you to take proactive actions and view regular HIV screening as a right to good health, as a responsibility and commitment to our partner.

It may not be easy to take that first step out but what you can do is take half-a-step and show support to the now affected women and their families by attending the Movie+Picnic!

Advanced tickets are priced at $15 for 1, $25 for 2 and $40 for a group of 4.

Funds raised will be contributed to women and children initiatives that will help to make a difference to lives of many Singaporean females and their families living daily with HIV.

Bring along your favorite food and drinks for the picnic and enjoy a wonderful evening with your girlfriends at Fort Canning Park!

What is “Nanyin”, you might ask. Frankly speaking, I had no clue about it too.

I was initially overwhelmed by the setting of the dinner. It was decorated like the dynasty times while the performers were dressed in traditional costumers and held the lanterns as guidance to our seats. (I guess that makes up part of the multi-sensory experience.)

Unlike other dinners whereby they kick start the event with speeches, this began with the dinner and upon serving, the host announced “开席” (dinner commence).

We were seated with other friends of K.A., in a round table of 10. I have to admit that I felt extremely uneasy, especially knowing that most of them are from the arts scene. Unlike me, I’m just a student.

After the 3rd dish, the performances started.

This was really interesting. The musicians were holding 2 bamboo plates on each hand and played astonishing music through some techniques of clapping the plates! I was pretty impressed and enjoyed this performances.

We had tea appreciation in between the dishes and my gosh! I never liked chinese tea as much as that night! There was 3 different types of chinese tea served and I could only remember the name on one, which is 大红袍 (Red Scholar). All three were fragrant and refreshing. The tea was sponsored by one of the authentic teahouse in Singapore.

The chinese food served was also fantastic! Every dish was prepared perfectly and I was glad that I attended the event. The performances, food and tea appreciation was totally worth the price.

Oh yes, I wore a cheongsam top and bun up my hair to match the night.

The weather wasn’t on our side, nevertheless, we had still a good crowd. =)

I had a good time sitting there, watching the drills. Girls, basketball soon, alright!?

Night time was DHL VIP party at PUMP room.

The day ended with late dinner at Timbre.

It was great meeting him and his girlfriend. He’s such a friendly and chatting person. And he’s only 1 year older than me!! haha… It was my pleasure to be his chaperone.

And of course, I had my photo taken with him. =)
I’ll definitely watch the Lakers play in the next season!
