Initially, I was quite excited about my new tan after being in Corsica for 3 days. But somehow, everyone says I look dull, and have lost my radiance. Hui Chun commented that I’m better off being fair. Oh well, she hates being yellow now.
And I thought of the new Beauty Buddies Programme by Ettusais! This will be a private hands-on session for you and your friends (max. 3 friends) to learn about beauty, skincare, makeup tips. Besides, for this month, you will get to experience an additional product during the session.
1. Ettusais Medicated Ance Dual Whitening Mask
Or
2. Ettusais Sebum Off Kit.
This is exactly what the both of us need now! Get rid of our white and blackheads plus regaining the fair skin. It would be great to try out the products before buying them!
Best of all, the Ettusais Beauty Buddies Programme is available by purchasing a $20 Ettusais redeemable voucher per person.
Feel free to speak to your Ettusais consultant at Isetan Scotts, Isetan Orchard, BHG Bugis or Metro Paragon and make your appointment. (:

Metro Paragon, 6735 2236

okay, despite being back for a few days already, I’m still feeling jet-lag. Losing out on my beauty sleep, making my eyebags horrendous!
I’m relying on Ettusais Eye Zone Massaging Essence to save the day. Through the massaging steps, it helps to promote circulation and reduce water retention around the eye area. Makes my eyes feel fresh and relaxed.

Another product that helps me hide my dark circles is the Ettusais Eye Zone Tinted Eye Essence. I’m on my 2nd tube now. The 1st tube lasted me for 3 months!
This is really cool – eye essence + concealer~
The texture is similar to liquid concealer but in a lighter formula. And it doesn’t create fine lines around the eye area. Plus the soft and gentle brush applicator makes application such a breeze! Smear it onto your eye area and dab it on.

You will get to try out these 2 products at the Beauty Buddies Programme too!

Am I hooked to the outdoors or what? Did another shoot with Shen, a few days ago. Haha.. he’s a cool and funny guy. The 4 hour long shoot was pretty enjoyable!

Our set up at Fort Canning Park…

we reckon it looks like for some spa or nature advert… haha…

check this out! i’m streeetched~ lol..

Ooooppps. Caught in action! Haha.. what am I spraying on my legs!?

Collected the Ettusais products before heading for the shoot and wanted to try them out immediately!! Hahah..
It’s Acne Body Whitening Mist from Ettusais!

It helps to keep the skin moisturized and fair! It also lightens and clears the blemishes on our body! At the same time, preventing acne formation on our body.
I had pimples popping out on my back previously. Now, this whitening mist and the Acne Aroma Body Wash are gonna be my best friends!
I was told that the body wash has a floral fruity scent. Couldn’t wait to bath time, so I opened it and gave a good sniff! Smells really citrus and floral…. Rose, Jasmine, Apple, Pear, Peach.. So yummy! And the aroma seems to take the stress away, it smells really refreshing!

It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that remove excess oil and impurities, keeping our body skin blemish-free. But it’s also gentle and keeps the skin moisturized!
When I went to change into my 2nd outfit, I took the body wash along, squeezing a little out, foaming it up.. haha.. I didn’t bath in the toilet. Was merely using the aroma to freshen myself up! Was really tempted to take a bath though. The weather was so humid!
Of course I did use it when I got home. Loved the refreshing feeling. (:
The 2nd look for the shoot. Some sort Emo…

played with the light effects…

this was for the shadow effect…

haha.. my constraint space attempt.. failed!

Can’t wait to see the final photos… We’ve got a couple of good shots and interesting ones!
And oh yes! How can I leave this out:
Ettusais is organizing something for you ladies! I’m so excited about it too!

This summer, everything spells bold and bright.

Ditch your boring browns and dreary neutrals. This season, eye makeup is going fun!
Bold teals, rich royal blues…

Bright yellows, poppy pinks…

Seductive violets…

I have gotten myself 2 candy pop colors from Ettusais!

Combining the colors from the feminine palette, I have created 2 looks!

Icy Cool Blue…

1. Use the pearl white as base, spread over the entire lid.
2. Followed by BL1, apply on your eyelids.
3. Pick up some pearl white, using the same applicator (same side as the BL1 to create a light dreamy blue), soften the edges and the inner corner of your eyes.
4. Pick up some black and BL1 and line your lids. It will give a dark blue color that blends in with the look.

A nice vibrant and yet subtle blue..

Sunkiss Glow…

1. Use the pearl white as base, spread over the lid entirely.
2. Followed by PK1, apply on the outer eyelid and blend the colour.
3. Pick up some pearl white, using the same applicator (same side as the PK1 to create a soft peach color), apply to the inner eyelid.
4. Pick up some black and dark pinkish-purple and line your lids. Add on some PK1 to soften the line.

A glowing subtle orangey pink. (:

*The most important key to note is to remember that a little bit goes a long way!
And when making a bold eye shadow choice, keep the rest of the face soft and neutral.

The Ettusais Ambassadors were invited to attend Ettusais’ new product launch together with the media people. It was a great afternoon at Mykii, with Esther and Holly showcasing the new product. We were well-fed by Ettusais with delicious savoury tapas, lemon tarts and chocolate brownies as well!

Now, what exactly is the new product? =D
It’s the MEDICATED ACNE DAYTIME DEFENSE EXTRA POWDER ~.
A new & improved formula to be exact!

Tracing back its history, the first generation of Ettusais Skincare Powder was named Day Protect Powder, which was launched in 2004. It gave the coverage of a foundation and provided a light and fluffy feel!
Following in 2007, Ettusais introduced a new skincare powder – Daytime Defense Powder. It gave a better oil control.
Ettusais believes that skincare protection should not be restricted in just skincare products.
Our skin is stressed by agressors such as UV rays, pollution, dehydration, etc. And skincare products only works on the inner and deeper layers of our skin thus the surface is left unprotected and untreated.
Also, we girls know how long we have our makeup on each day, it’s an average of 8 hours or more daily. Wouldn’t it be great if our makeup products are an extension of our skincare regime? (=
This is the concept of Ettusais!
Therefore, Ettusais’ range of base products are called Base Care instead of Base Makeup.
In this 2009, Ettusais is launching a new and improved formula of the skincare powder, bringing you the best of the Day Protect Powder and Daytime Defense Powder – The Medicated Acne Daytime Defense Powder EXTRA!

The improved technology also enabled the puff to help in better application of the powder. Which reduces the appearance of pores and blemishes! (YAY!)
Check out this diagram:

The medicated acne daytime defense powder is available in Lucent, Light Beige and Natural Beige.
Here you have Esther and Holly, with application of Daytime Defense Powder at the product launch:

VERDICT: This is me with application of Daytime Defense Powder.
I’m amazed by it’s coverage properties and yet it feels so light on my face, almost like nothing!
But I’m not saying that it’s a magic powder that covers all your pimple scars and freckles.
It is great to use it when you want to go light on your makeup and for every day protection of your face! Plus, it fights acne causing bateria, absorbs sebum and completes with a radiant finish!

I still remember when I was in secondary school; I was pretty much against using cosmetics. I had my reservations as I heard that makeup is bad for our skin and will create more skin troubles.
Have you had these worries as well?
Well, this is because we often forgo or unaware of the very 1st step in applying make-up, which is the Pre-Makeup Base!
You might feel that it doesn’t give any direct benefits, i.e. no coverage. But this is an important step that all of us should follow.
The fundamental uses of a pre-makeup base is to hold your makeup and act as a protective layer. And of course, it comes with additional benefits too!
For Ettusais pre-makeup base, it is called Medicated Acne Whitening UV and it’s loaded with lots of benefits for our skin!

1. Sunscreen Properties – SPF24 PA++
2. Combats acne and prevents breakouts
3. Smooth our complexion for better application of foundation
4. Lighten acne scars and freckles
5. Even out and brighten up skin tone
6. Lightweight formula – suitable for sensitive or oily skin type
7. Helps our makeup to last longer through the day
Medicated Acne Whitening UV is available in both oil and dry block.

Dry Block formula is ideal for dry/dehydrate skin types. It hydrates the skin and prevents shine with AC control oil. It comes in a tube with a creamy texture. Don’t be taken back by the thick creamy look. It’s amazingly lightweight when you apply it onto your skin!

Oil Block formula is suitable for oily/combination skin types. The oil-free formula not only keeps the skin moisturized, fresh and matte, it also helps in sebum and sweat absorption. It comes in a bottle form with a watery texture. It feels almost like nothing when I apply it on my skin!
I had the Dry Block all along and I was given the Oil Block to try out. For me, I use the Dry Block on my cheeks to keep it moisturized and Oil Block on my forehead to keep the shine level controlled. And most importantly, it protects my skin and helps to keep my Zero Pore Pact foundation last longer!

Did you notice any difference in me recently? Factor out my braces.
Last week during dinner,
kelvin: it seems like since you became Ettusais ambassador, your makeup looks better.
Me: wad do u mean?
Kelvin: I don’t know.. More even skin tone? Just looks better.
Me: mmm.. Do u think tt my skin has cleared up alot?
Kelvin: ya, I guess so. And ur makeup is better.
Hee. You know how guys are unattentive to details. And I’m so happy that he actually noticed a difference in my skin!!
Besides, applying the skin version up & aqua shooter religiously, I have been using Ettusais Zero Pore Pact!
Yup! The highly-raved Zero Pore Pact. In last month’s issue(March) of Her World , Zero Pore Pact has been voted as the “Most Matte Foundation” by the readers!
Zero Pore Pact is a 2-way compact foundation that provides your skin with a flawless poreless finishing. It is equipped with anti-bacterial properties to fight bacteria and blemishes. Not forgetting its sunscreen properties: SPF24 PA++, which protects your skin from the harmful UV rays.
For this month of April, Ettusais will be releasing/have released a limited edition case!
Check this out:

A lovely subtle pink base with silvery gold trimmings. So Paris!
Zero Pore Pact is comes in Dry and Oil block, and is available in 7shades!

The Oil Block combats shine and excessive sebum, keeping your face matte all day long. Suitable for oily and combination skin.

For the Dry Block, it helps to maintain the moisture level in your skin with AC control oil and prevents your skin from drying and makeup from flaking.
What’s more, the sponge applicator for the Oil & Dry Block is different! The sponges are designed to enhance better application. How thoughtful!
Verdict: I love the limited edition casing. So chic and unique! I’m using the Dry Block and it feels great on my skin. The coverage is medium yet gives me a smooth and poreless finishing and it’s quite lasting, at the same time keeping my skin moisturized. Most importantly, no breakouts! But I do get shine on my face after a few hours. So I’m definitely gonna try out the Oil Block after this.
If you are still worried about concealing open pores, concealing blemishes or bumps, you can check out the “Flat Design Creator”. It has a unique frictionless spatula to help smooth out the areas that you wish to conceal. Remember to apply it against the direction of your pores for the best results!

NOW, you will not want to miss this out! In conjuction with the release of the limited edition case, Ettusais is giving you the case for free with every purchase of the refill pack!
Instead of spending the usual $48 refill + $20 case, you can get the set for just $48!
The limited edition case is out in stores. So hurry and check it out at Ettusais counters!
Non bouton. J’aime ma vie en rose. Et toi?
No pimples. I like my life in pink. What about you?

flea.fly.flo.fun @ Home Club.

Sales were terrible. i wish to attribute it to the downpour.

And I guess i’m starting to feel the effects of the recession.
I was selling 2 of my own tops for $5 each and 2 girls came, asking if i could go lower than $5.
WTH!
$5 is such a bargain. Why not try asking if i’m willing to give it to you free? I might just consider that!

Earlier in the morning, the girls from MSU went for a grooming session.

Extra extra!~
Ettusias have just launched the new version of Skin Version Up and Aqua Shooter.
It’s now called: “Skin Version Up EXTRA” and “Aqua Shooter EXTRA”! (^_^)Y

What are the 2 products about?
They are part of the Ettusais’ Daily Skincare regime which consists of Wash->Prep->Moisturize.
Skin Version Up works as a softener that softens your skin’s surface layer to prepare it to absorb the maximum moisture from your moisturizer. Otherwise our skin is unable to absorb moisture on its own as it is “waterproof” or “hydrophobic”. That’s why it is named as the ‘Prep’ stage.

*Photo taken with trial size bottle*
Dispense an appropriate amount (around 1-2pumps) onto your palm and apply to the entire face. I usually gently massage and pat it until all is being absorbed.
I have tried the old formula for the Skin Version Up and I felt that the texture was kinda thick and slightly sticky.
Now, the enhanced formula of Skin Version Up EXTRA comes in a lighter texture. This also allows penetration into deeper layers of your skin to treat blemishes, which means faster results! In addition, it helps to fight and prevents the growth and multiplication of acne bacteria too.
Verdict: I’m very pleased with the enhanced formula! It feels much lighter and my skin felt really moisturized after applying the Aqua Shooter, guess it’s really seeping down into the deep layers of my skin. You may find it a little uncomfortable upon the first try because it’s different from toners. Toners give your skin a dry and clean feel whereas for the Skin Version Up, your skin feels moisturized!
For the Aqua Shooter, it is a lightweight and refreshing moisturizer. It comes in 2 selection: Refreshing & Moisturizing.

*Photo taken with trial size bottle*
Dispense 2 pumps on a piece of cotton and apply to your skin by gently patting your face with the cotton.
I have tried both Refreshing and Moisturizing. As a combination-skin person, I prefer the Moisturizing. A lot of people have the misconception that if your skin is oily, you should refrain from using moisturizing products. THIS IS WRONG! The excess oil is produced by the oil sebum and not caused by the hydration level. Combination-skin usually experience dryness at the cheeks and oiliness at the forehead or vice-versa. So what you need is an oil-free moisturizer to boost the moisture level of your skin. This in turn helps to reduce the excessive shine too!
For the Aqua Shooter EXTRA, the enhanced formula helps to further fight acne bacteria from deep within the skin.
Verdict: I have been using both Skin Version Up EXTRA and Aqua Shooter EXTRA for about 3 weeks. My skin feels moisturized everyday and the anti-blemish formula is working pretty well. The frequencies of my breakouts have reduced except for the ones that pop out at every time of the month. Hopefully with regular use of it, I can achieve clear skin!! Shall update you girls in another month’s time? Or maybe I should try their Pre Acne Care sheet!
It is recommended to use both products together to achieve maximum effects as they complement each other! And it can last you for about 1.5-2 months if you’re using it at the recommended dosage.
Skin Version Up EXTRA is retailing at $37.00 while Aqua Shooter EXTRA is at $41.00. Another plus point is that you don’t have to buy a new bottle when you have finished it. You can buy the refill instead and save some moo-lahs!!! =D

Did you see Christine in CLEO March Issue? =D

I was captivated by the limited edition “Sweet Marble” products!
They look soooo pretty with the swirls and shimmers!
Cheekilious, Lippilious~

For this spring, Ettusais have specially launched these 2 limited edition products! Not only do they come in pretty marble patterns, they are also loaded with lots of skin-loving ingredients!
As I have mentioned before, the Cheek Color is one of ettusais’ best selling point make-up product. And for this limited edition series, Ettusais is introducing 3 swirl colors – Candy Sweet, Glowy & Natural.
I’ve got the Glowy OR3! It’s a healthy orangey shade.
The swirls are a combination of 3 colors:
the BASE color complements our natural skin tone, the COLOR pigments gives a radiant glow and the PEARL particles provides a slight shimmers to reflect light from within. So when all 3 colors are mixed together, the finish is beautiful and natural.

Pick up some powder with the sponge application.

And pat on your cheeks! It’s slightly weird on my first application as I’m so used to brushing my blusher on, but I’ve gotten the hang of it now! The puff minimizes friction to prevent further irritation of the skin, especially if you have blemishes on the cheek area & sensitive skin! I like the softness of it!

Verdict: I love how the healthy orange goes with my skin color. You can control the color intensity by layering it. Pat on more layers if you want a stronger and vivid color! As well, the shimmers are not excessively in-your-face. It gives a nice natural glow. And I do enjoy using the special puff! I’m always using a lot of force when I sweep my blusher on with a brush. And a good blusher brush doesn’t come cheap. Whereas for Ettusais Cheek Color, the sponge puff is included underneath the color and in any case should you require a replacement, it’s retailing at $5 only.
The Cheek Color is also formulated with AC Control oil to keeps skin zits free and hydrated at the same time. But do remember to wash your puff! I do it weekly, as well my foundation sponge and make-up brushes too.
It is VERY important to wash our make-up tools as they pick up the oil and dirt on our skin when they use them. You don’t wanna be smearing bacteria all over your face!
Ettusais Cheek Color puff can easily be removed from the base plate.
Surprise, surprise! – The puff application is designed like our earphones! Simply remove the tablet from the sponge and wash the sponge with soap and water. Have it air-dried before putting back.

Moving on, the limited edition Sweet Marble Gloss also comes in the 3 shades!
The one I’ve is the natural one, BE4.

Besides the pretty marble swirls, the unique spatula application is also a highlight of the product! This ensures the gloss to glide on evenly and smoothly!
The usual applicators in the market are usually a brush or a squeeze-out version. I’m always feeling skeptical about using a lip brush, for hygiene reasons. And with this type of spatula, the shine of the gloss will be at its maximum!

*Tips: Apply the gloss only to the center part of your lips. This way, your lips will look more pouty! Applying on your whole lips will make it look oily instead of juicy!

Verdict: I’m not a big fan of lip gloss as I don’t like the sticky feeling. Usually, I will just apply a thin layer to get the shine. I find the texture of this marble gloss a little thick, probably because of its moisturizing effects! The gloss is added with Jojoba Oil and it kept my lips moisturized and soft. The gloss is pretty lasting as well. After having some food and wiping my lips, there’s still some shine and color. So, lesser touch-ups!
Now, you might be wondering about the swirls! As girls, we always like our things to look as good as it is. For this marble gloss, the swirls do stay! I have used it for several times and the swirls are still there!
Both limited edition Sweet Marble products are already in stores!
Cheek color is retailing at $29.00 & lip gloss is at $28. Do check them out at the Ettusais counters and get cheekilious, lippilious this spring! =D

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Have you gotten ready your gorgeous chic outfit for that romantic day? If not you can get them @ Frenchfleurs! Besides dressing up well, don’t forget to do up a pretty makeup to mesmerize your date!
For this month of romance, Ettusais has put together 3 eye palettes, readily matched specially for you~ So you don’t have to worry about matching the wrong colors.
Simply pick a theme that suits you:

Aren’t they all gorgeous!?
Here’s Christine being the model, while Chelsea demonstrates on the application of the cute colors.

Some tips to share with you babes:
1. How to apply cute colors? This is more suitable for girls with round eyes/face/eyebrows. It’s not just the colors but also the way you apply it. Simply dab on the brightening base color (light pink) on the whole eye socket, follow on with the dark pink on the middle of your eyelids in a circular shape. Use the light green on your lower lid and inner corner of your eyes.
2. For cool and feminine colors, simply apply the base first followed by the main color over your eyelids but don’t go beyond the crease line! Next, use the darkest shade as liner. You can create a smokey look by thickening the darkest color.
I chose the feminine colors, comprising of a white base, pinkish purple and black. Upon close inspection, you can actually see the shimmers! I love shimmer glitters!! Hahah..

Here is my step-by-step mini tutorial for a light smokey eye makeup:
1. Dab on the Eye Zone Tinted Color Essence to neutralize my dark circles and brighten up the eye area, at the same time, moisturizing it!

2. Apply a thin layer of base color on to the entire eye socket. You can use the applicator provided or an eye-shadow brush. For a lighter look, use your fingers instead.

3. Apply the main color on your eyelids.

4. Pick up some purplish pink color using a eyeshadow brush and blend on the side of your palm. (You can mix a little of the black to get a dark purplish color). Apply at the outer corner of your eyelids.

5. Now, use the black as your eyeliner. Draw the line close to the base of of your lashes. I prefer to draw a longer eye line as it would make my eyes bigger. Using the pointed tip, carefully apply a thin line of the darkest shade onto your lower eyelids with some brightening base to the inner corner of your eyes.

Review on Ettusais Eye shadow Colors:
The texture is extremely fine! So easy to blend and it didn’t crease at all. (You know how irritating it is to see crease lines at the end of the day) The color stays on pretty well too! No need for touch-ups. And the sponge applicator is sooooooo soft!!! =D
Apply some lipstick for a full sexy smooch lips!

I’m using RD1 of the Lip Color N from Ettusais. Feels moisturizing! And also, this is not the creamy type so it simply coats your lips with a light healthy red tone.

Now with a pretty makeup, hair and outfit; don’t forget the details like your nails! Paint your nails with a pretty coral pinkish tone PK1 from Ettusais Nail Color N. (Kelvin gave good compliments on this color! Hee.)
Ettusais carries 27 stunning eye colors!!! From sheer to vivid, matte to shimmery! You can mix and match your own colors and create your own palette~
Now, here’s a good news to all of you:

A few weeks ago, I was telling myself: “I need a new eye cream!”
(dark circles have always been one of my biggest concerns)
And just last week at the briefing session, Ettusais presented us with this!

I was already tempted to get it when I received their newsletter! And I was so happy that the 2 new eye zone products were included in the goodie bag!!! Wahahaha…
Now, here’s a little information about DARK EYE CIRCLES~
There are 2 types of dark rings – Brown and Blue.
Brown circles are caused by excessive melanin production, aging and hereditary reasons.
While blue circles are usually the results of lack of sleep and poor blood circulation.
To combat blue dark circles, simply sleep and rest your eyes and promote blood circulation by massaging.
As for brown dark circles, it’s a little trickier. Since it’s due to aging and hereditary reasons, you can only lighten it and use sunscreen to prevent further darkening.
Now I do understand why my dark circles never seem to go away…
“Hereditary + Lack of sleep”
Anyway, i’ve been trying the 2 new eye products from Ettusais for the past week.
1. Eye Zone Massaging Essence

As its name suggests, you have have to message this essence on your eye area. And through massaging, it helps to promote blood circulation and reduces the puffiness around your eyes! Remember to apply and massage around your entire eye area, top and bottom!
Ettusais came up with a set of massaging moves:

On the 1st try, I had some difficulties following through the massaging moves but after a while, you will get the hang of it. Upon completion, my eyes felt so fresh and relaxed, probably because massaging helps to promote circulation and reduce water retention. And I’m loving the feeling! =)
I find that one pump of eye gel is too much for my eyes (had to massage longer to allow the gel to be fully absorbed), I would suggest half-a-pump. You could use it after ettusais skin version up to further enhance absorption!
Eye-care productions are usually in the form of cream, which may be too rich for some of us and it causes little bumps around the under-eye area. What’s good about the eye zone essence is – its gel form!

As you can see, it has a pretty lightweight gel-like texture which makes it easy to massage and enhance the effect of the essence.
2. Eye Zone Tinted Color Essence

I got a little excited about this product when I was being introduced to it.
Eye essence + concealer in one~ How cool is that!
The texture is similar to liquid foundation/concealer but in a lighter formula. The tip is unlike any other products in the market now; it comes in a soft and gentle brush applicator which makes application easier!
Simply smear the essence onto your eye area and dab it on instead of blending for better coverage!
Although it comes in only one tone, but don’t fret! The tinted color pigments actually neutralize the different dark circles, meaning the coverage is very natural~
I personally like this as it help to lighten my stubborn dark brown circles and it’s moisturizing! You know how creamy concealers are; and often it makes your under-eye area look cakey and creates fine lines. Whereas for this tinted essence doesn’t give me that sort of issues.
If you are using compact foundation, best to use this first. And if you are using liquid foundation, you use the tinted essence after. Great for touch-ups too! The coverage is medium which is great for everyday use.
Both the Ettusais Eye Zone products are already in stores. Do hop down to any of the Ettusais counter and try it out!
May we be free from dark circles!!! =D
