It’s OVERTIME again! But no fret, nothing stressful!

A few weeks ago, the bloggers gathered for a food tasting session @ Overtime Dempsey. My previous visit to Overtime was for its grand opening and oh boy was it filled with good beer and roasted crunchy pork! What an indulgence~ Overtime offers both finger foods and a wide selection for a proper meals.

With more than 10 of us there, I guess we ordered almost everything on the menu!

The HITS:

Calamari Scampi $14
Daen strongly recommended this salad and we ended up having 4 plates of it!! LOL. I must say calamari was pretty well done, very fresh – I hate the soft mushy kind. The taste is a mix of sweet, sour and spicy, Thai-style. A great starter and its whets the appetite!

Mutton Satay (10pcs)

Stir Fried Louh Syu Fan (Mee Tai Mud) $10
I was surprised to see this in the menu and ordered it right away. And it didn’t disappoint me. The fragrance was overwhelming when served. You can imagine it as Char Teow Kway but uses Louh Syu Fan instead. They are also very generous with the portion of seafood in it.

Food Platter A $23
Here’s my favourite Crunchy Pork, along with Crispy Mushrooms and Crispy Fish Fillets. The crunchy pork is one of the best roasted meat I ever had! While the skin is crunchy and crisp, the meat remains juicy and succulent. The proportion of fats to lean meat is about 40:60? Occasional indulgence is perfectly fine. Alternatively, you can simply just savor the lean meat.

Not forgetting the Starker Beer! Aromatic is my favourite~

We had expectations of it being similar or bigger than German sausages but it came with a tad disappointment and the taste was nothing unusual.

This is probably only 1/4 what we had for the night!

Other than the Katy Perry colors, I have gotten myself the OPI Black Shatter!

Katy Perry + Black Shatter. You just need one coat of it to achieve this effect. One thing to note, it dries up really fast, so you gotta act fast too! It looks great, doesn’t it!?

I had both hands painted in The One That Got Away + Black Shatter. *loves*

I guess most of us are aware about the tragedy that took place in Japan over the past 5 days. I have never followed the news this closely. It is heartbreaking to see the photos and watch the videos of the devastation.

I pray for Japan and all of us.

On a side note, I find it absurd that citizens of China snapping up salt in fear of radiation. Some of them, are not even aware of what’s going on.

I have finally upgraded to iPhone 4! Loving the fast speed and all the functions missing from iPhone 3. (:

I was planning to migrate over to Tumblr, but I’m having some problems with the coding! Plus, Tumblr doesn’t allow importing of entries.

I tried installing the “tumblr” plugin on wordpress too – it didn’t work out well. Guess I will stick to this platform for now.

Anyway, I have updated the backlogs (more to come). So scroll down for updates!

The Ettusais ambassadors met up for a dinner date @ Food for thought! 2010 had been a busy year for all of us and we hardly get to meet up. Even so, Sarah was tied up at work while Jayne fell ill. You girls are missed!

While waiting for our food, we played a game, supposedly a cool popular one in Japan! Ha.

All we did was drawing connecting lines without knowing what it leads us to~

After a few rounds, Sherry revealed that the connecting lines will lead us to our prizes! Yeah~ What’s a game without prizes!!!

It’s Chinese New Year Eve and I’m heading to my grandma’s place later for reunion dinner. I don’t feel much of the CNY atmosphere this year – it is me only or do you feel the same as well? Or probably I’m just too busy with FYP.

But I’m glad I managed to find some time last week to visit the hair salon! It’s always good to start the year with something fresh!

I went to Salon Vim after hearing the raves and I must say, they have really good service! I had a slight cough, so they continuously refilled my cup of hot tea and offered me lozenges.

And of course, I liked their hair services too! Before the perm, they did a protein treatment on my hair to strengthen it. And I went for the after-perm treatment too. My hair looks pretty healthy now, regaining its former glory. lol.

This is one of the few rare times that I walked out of a salon satisfied.
