easy day

I’m officially done with my 24 weeks internship. So much done, so much learned, so much to bring home.

How much is ‘so much’? It is ambiguous.

All I want now is to laze on my cozy sofa, listen to Hotel Costes, read a book and eat my coffee bread.

P1090515e

I moved to a new place since I came back from Taiwan.  I was taken aback by the amount of stuffs I had in my little cozy apartment when I started moving. It does scares me on how I am gonna bring everything back to Singapore.
P1090513e

I love my new place to the bits!

I wish I could remain here till time calls out to me, but it is pointless for me to stay on in Shanghai.

奶酪

I am in Beijing right now, for work, the last lap of my internship. Flying off to Guangzhou tomorrow morning. Only had time to check out 南锣鼓巷 before lunch, one of the oldest areas in Beijing.

P1090439e

We went there too early for the shops to be opened.
P1090442e

Thankfully for some early birds, we managed to check out some interesting shops.

As well, we queued for the famous milk pudding store.
P1090448e

There were at least 50 people in front of us and we queued for 35 minutes.
P1090447e

Ordered all their specialties but it was an utter disappointment. Nothing much special.
P1090450e

Anyway, this is so back-dated – My weekend trip to Beijing a month back. I have heard so much about the Forbidden City but it was a disappointment when I arrived there. Maybe I am not much of a Chinese culture fan.

IMG_0693e

But I like this photo against the old red wall, which I was made to pose.
IMG_0704e

Spent half the day walking around the palace, looking at dozens of similar architecture, which I was not at all fascinated by.

TW Part6: 好乐迪 + Luxy

My 3rd trip to Karaoke in my whole life, just for Hui Chun’s birthday. =)

P1090164e

bday

And I got to check out LUXY with some other friends after the celebration.
P1090168e

I look huge. Blame the guy who took the photo, and myself for eating so much.
luxy

P1090174e

host cum rapper.
P1090184e

I find the dancer on the left, in pink, extremely hot!
P1090180e

P1090181e

LUXY feels like Dragonfly + Butter Factory.

TW Part5: Jelly Beans Party!

If you would notice, I got a haircut in Taiwan. Recommended by Hui Chun, I decided to trust the famous hairstylist, 小曼老师. Upon calling for appointment, they told us that the earliest slot would be next year May! At the end, I did go ahead with another stylist, Monkey, from the salon.

He did a simple analysis of my hair condition and my looks, and discussed with me on the new look. Everything sounded good, and the end product was alright.

P1090157e

P1090271e

I am just a little fussy about my fringe though, it is neither here nor there. I guess I should just be a good girl and stick to Kenaris.

Besides pampering myself to a whole lot of shopping, good yummy food and an expensive haircut (it cost me 1500NT!), I planned to paint my nails! I missed painted nails. I brought along my Jelly Beans Party Box from Ettusais, all the way from Singapore to Shanghai to Taiwan, just for my vacances.
jelly bean

Remember the limited edition Ettusais Vacances Nail collection last year? Now, they are back and back with a sniff~

Upon drying, these colors are scented with either yummy coconut, peach, raspberry or citrus smells! (:

Here’s my pack of vacances nail colors + gel top coat.
P1090192e
From L-R: Ettusais Gel Top Coat, 14 Sugar, F1 Honey Caramel, 10 Soda, F6 Pink Guava

I did a simple “diva” nails with the F1 Honey Caramel and French the tips with 14 Sugar.
P1090205e

And not forgetting, coating my lovely nails with Ettusais Gel Top Coat!
P1090299e

It has the glossy and shiny texture that makes the nails look like gel nails! At the same time, it conditions the nails with jojobar oil and it dries so quickly that you don’t have to worry about smudges!
P1090208e

Love my coconut scented gel-like nails~
P1090211e

And guess what? I spotted Ettusais counters in Taipei @ 新光三月.
Talked to the beauty advisors and they are all so friendly and smiley, just like ours in Singapore~ (:

TW Part4: ShiDa Night Market

Following the trip to Shilin, Hui Chun brought me to 师大夜市 the next day.

It’s well-known for the trendy Korean/Japanese shops and their ridiculous pricing.

Saw a Korean-imported lovely satin chiffon dress and it was $80.
$80 for a Korean-imported dress in the night market!!??

P1090136e

We queued for the 卤味 (stewed/braised food).
P1090138e

Took us 10 minutes to select the ingredients and 20 minutes for the serving.
P1090139e

Just a couple of items and it turned out to be such a huge bag of food.
Tofu, Intestines, Pig’s Blood Rice Cake, Vegetables, etc
P1090141e

Excited about the pig’s blood rice cake. Although it’s rated as the world’s most disgusting food by Europeans (London, i think).

P1090145e

The shop was packed with customers and we seek refuge at the beancurd store.
The beancurd is slightly different from Singapore, especially with the toppings they offered.
P1090142e

Holding the chopsticks in one hand and the spoon in the other, she can’t decide which to start on first. =p
P1090144e

The store allowed graffiti and signatures on their walls.
P1090147e

P1090148e

The braised/stewed food only was enough to stuff our stomachs full. We didn’t even managed to finish them!
P1090149e

Again, we went shopping! Bought those that are not-so expensive. Korean/Jap – inspired clothings.

Got my Maxi Dress, 2 tops, 1 outerwear and some accessories! :)

Oh yeah, we saw this:
Made in Singapore!
Vrai ou Faux??
P1090154e

TW Part3: ShiLin Night Market

Since Hui Chun was slogging off work, she got our juniors to keep me company and they brought me to the famous Tapei 士林夜市 for a great feast of the local delights.

I have heard so much about it, seen so much on TV, and now, finally, the trip!

P1090103e

P1090104e

It was a rainy day. Luckily for that, it was less-crowded.

P1090105e

1st stop: XXL Chicken Cutlet
P1090107e

P1090108e

It’s REALLY huge~ Twice the size of those we get in Singapore. The crust is crispy while the meat is extremely juicy and tender.
P1090109e

2nd stop: Baked Potato with Cheese Sauce
P1090106e

P1090110e

Overflowing cheese sauce.. yummmmmmmy~
P1090112e

3rd stop: Meat Dumpling
I still like my Xiao Yang Meat Dumpling in Shanghai.
P1090113e

4th stop: Popiah Ice-cream with Peanut Shavings
P1090115e

Sorbet with caramelized peanut shavings wrapped in popiah skin.
P1090116e

Pets Corner! Puppies for sale~
P1090118e

Cuddly cuddly cuddly. so adorable!
P1090120e

5th stop: Crepes!
P1090121e

Hawaiian Crepe. We had a tough time preventing the corn from dropping all over the ground. haha.
P1090122e

6th stop: Fruits~
P1090124e

juicy huge-ass strawberries!
P1090123e

7th stop: Sausage wrapped in glutinous rice
P1090126e

It’s so tasty and delicious! We had Original, Wasabi Chilli and Black Pepper ones.
P1090125e

The last stop was a traditional pastry, Ox’s Tongue Biscuit – Peanut and Sugar Malt.

And there we ended the night. I was extremely full despite resting halfway with shopping distractions. =p

dark rings fighter!

Like one says, eyes are the windows to the soul. I am especially particular about my eyes, since I have dark eye rings and sleepy-looking eyes.

Panda eyes are like the most hated. Once it gets on to you, it is so difficult to get rid~

The poor pandas….

panda
Panda: “oh come on.”

Dark rings are result from poor blood circulation from lack of sleep, or hereditary reasons. Poor blood circulation shows easily because the skin around the eye area is thinner and more delicate.

And here’s my duo dark rings fighters:
IMG_0856e

In view of the fact that I am not able to receive my full 8 hours of beauty sleep for every single day, I turned into improving the blood circulation through eye massage using Ettusais Eye Zone Massaging Essence.

Through massaging, it helps to promote blood circulation and reduces the puffiness around the eye area. It also has vitamin C derivation to lighten those dark circles that are caused by pigmentation!

It is clear gel-like essence which is suited for massage moves. Using both ring fingers, tap the essence around the eye area and go gently in circular motion.
P1000206e

Concealing is the other way out. I tried out Ettusais Eye Zone Tinted Color Essence last February and since then; it has been the essential item in my makeup pouch.

The Eye Zone Tinted Color Essence combines eye essence and concealing properties into one. It has a lightweight liquid texture and comes in a soft gentle brush applicator.

Just twist, smear on and dab to blend!
P1080971e

The tinted color pigments neutralize the dark circles and provide a natural coverage.

That’s why it is the ‘IT’ item in my makeup pouch! It is also the secret to “no makeup” look too~ Just conceal the eye area with Eye Zone Tinted Color Essence, puff on some loose powder over the face and you are ready to go!

TW Part1: transfer flights.

Last Tuesday, I took a flight out from Shanghai to Hong Kong to Taiwan.

I left my house at 10:30am and arrived at Hui Chun’s place in Taipei at 9:30pm.

Yes, it took me 11 hours. -_-”

So much for trying to save 1200rmb on the air tickets.

P1090095e

P1090097e

Upon arriving at Tao Yuan International Airport, I took the city shuttle bus.P1090099e

I was really unlucky for that I did not charge my Sony Ericssion phone and my iPhone went dead on me when I landed.

Thankfully, I still had some battery life in my laptop. So I charged my iPhone on the spot while waiting for the city shuttle bus.
P1090098e

This is how my virgin trip to Taiwan started..

And now, I’m back in Shanghai. The return journey took 10 hours.

No more stopovers.
