I have been craving for pasta ever since my trip to Italy.
(I have been craving for everything i had in Europe!)
Tried out the handmade ones at Da Paolo, which was not too bad. But they don’t serve Ravioli pasta.
Forlino is a young Italian restaurant, located at One Fullerton.
I always thought it was a fine dining setting since it’s under the Il Lido Group. oh boy was I surprised to see people in t-shirt and sports shoes!
Did u know that the entrance of Forlino is situated next to Butter Factory? There was a long way of stairs leading to the 3rd level.
I loved the light mint green walls with silvery gold fixtures. Reminds me of La Duree! haha..

We were given one of the best view seating. Looking out to the esplanade, merlion and Singapore Flyer.

It’s very much an open space concept.

with a long serving table in the middle of the room. Feels like a dinning hall in some castle.

Let’s kick in to everyone’s favourite -> FOOD!
We took on the traditional set menu, with the complimentary gourmet set for 2 from Citibank.
(yes, the meal was f-r-e-e! but we paid for the bottle of rose wine.)
Amuse Bouche was slices of duck meat with red pepper mouse.
(Trevor prepared this, and coincidentally, my favourite of the night)

we had free flow of foccacia bread. we had several servings.

Appetizer – Wild Mushrooms with Robbiala Cheese Fondue and Cornmeal.
I enjoyed wiping the plate clean with the foccacia bread.

Antipasta – Tagliolini with Clams and Green Chilli
In my opinion, I guess it would be better if it was done in Aglio Olio style.

my mains – Wagyu Beef Cheek with Herb Mashed Potato
I should stick to meat that are roasted/grilled instead of stew. I didnt finish it though the portion was small.

Kelvin’s main – Halibut and Asparagus with Orange & Martini Vermouth Sauce

Dessert – Molten Lava Chocolate Cake with Banana Gelato and Rum Sauce
It was just normal, very normal.

Petit Fours – in this case, Petit Three

Thankfully, we only had to pay for the rose wine. But even still, the rose white tasted like white wine instead.
Why is it so difficult to get good rose wines in Singapore. Yet, we call ourselves a global city.
Our next stop will be Il Lido, maybe next month, and I hope I will get to taste some ravioli pasta!
you should try Rizza by Kaesler. its a surprisingly sweet white wine thats low in alcohol. interesting taste for a wine. think its available at all denise outlets. (:
