before i proceed with any details,
to all who feels that i’m slim enough… you’re wrong…
i was never satisfied with my thunder thighs.
THE GIRLS at the audition today were ALL super duper SLIM. or i shd say SKINNY!!!
i was the biggest size. =(
Alright, i reached mediacorp earlier than expected which resulted into a very long wait…
I could recognise some of the girls there… I would say there’s quite a fair bit of pretty ones. Their photos on the submission page doesn’t do justice to them.
After the long long wait, we were brought to a room for a short briefing. Then, i realised only 20 girls out of the 48 will get the chance to go on the Grid Girls TV show…
Anyway, back to the audition, we were told to dress in our bikini before entering the “interrogation” room. Which had a panel of judges and a rolling camera facing us.
I felt pretty terrified. It was even scarier when it came to the individual interview. But i figured, since i’m there and there with bikini already, why not just give my best shot right. Rather than saying stupid things due to nervousness and make a fool of myself in front of national TV.
I decided that the only way to score points is by making myself sound intellectual and sincere. So i began with self-introduction – Jeanine, 21years old, Mass comm @ NTU, enjoys swimming and in love with yoga, enjoys chilling out with friends, meeting new people during events and personal gatherings, international friends, speaks basic french as well.
So, the judges noticed my braces and questioned it. Well, i guess i can remove the wires but not the brackets.
What makes me wanna be a grid girl? Of course the exposure is one hell of a rare opportunity. And i believe i fit the bill – cheery, witty, glamourous.
“Witty” is a tricky term. Well, i guess being a grid girl somehow represents singapore on the track and we need to be alert at all times and say the right things. we can’t afford to embarrass ourselves and singapore in front of be it the racer or any other people who are part of the race.
What’s so glamourous about being a grid girl? For the fact that this race is the next big “IT” thing and it is the first ever night race in Formula One.
Do you understand the job of a grid girl? Ya, we are suppose to attend promotional events to gain more media attention and boost the public awareness. the top 3 girls will be at the starting line flagging off the race while the rest are assigned to the drivers. Holding the tag card and national flag of the drivers. And of course, the look good at the track.
“Very good”
And the interview ended. The whole process was filmed.
Very good – it could mean either they are pleased with my answers, or we have no more questions.
I felt my chances were very minimal when i saw that all the girls were so slim, but i felt slightly better after the interview. I think i might just stand a chance. Unlikely to be in the 20 for TV show, but maybe in for the 48 qouta.
But if i dont get in and they still air my audition footage, i think im gonna dig a hole and hide my head.
——————————————–
btw, i had a great brunch with my girls @ Turquoise Room before my audition. =)

And also i caught Accuracy of Death after my audition.
Takeshi Kaneshiro is so charming!

It a touching ending. But there’s lots of humor during the interaction of the reaper and the mortals.
I feel that Takeshi acted very well. And he looked quite cute in a few scenes. lol.
As well, the boyfriend just had the urge to spend some $$. He couldn’t find anything for himself and he ended up buying a pretty pretty dress for me! =) loves.
Not to mention, we had a great time grabbing magazines and books at Borders. 20% storewide + 10% additional for members is simply irresistable~
Now, it’s 2am. I need to sleep! Been awake since 9 this morning. *yawns*
Bonne nuit~ Ciao!
