i'm not dead

i couldnt say no to Kuriya. =)

but i had absolutely no idea what i was getting myself into.

We started the dinner slow and light, since Kelvin was coughing…

Ordered some of the usuals…

Sushi balls on bamboo. cute. haha…

Photobucket
Master Chef, Kuyizuka-san grinding fresh wasabi for us.

He was sharing with us his trip back to Japan. Brought back a bottle of superior sake. Really smooth and sweet. shiok!

As we were drinking and having sushi, Kuyizuka offered us something really special.

Photobucket
I know it looks digusting. Remember puffer fish? This lump is removed from puffer fish.

Erm… how should i say it? It’s the poison in the puffer fish, the liver.

Something that is extremely rare to get. Kuyizuka was telling us that the poison in the liver was removed using a special traditional technique and it takes 5 years for the process to be completed. As well, this process can only be carried out specific location of japan. (can’t remember the name.)

I must say it is an honour to be able to taste it. But again, I was terrified. I mean, its POISON!!! People die eating puffer fish that is not properly handled. AND HERE I AM, tasting the it.

Photobucket
Of course, you dont bite a part of that big chunk… It’s served in slices.

I was really nervous and scared about tasting it. The fear arose… Held tight to Kelvin’s hands…

Kuyizuka ensured us that it’s perfectly safe to consume it. Japan’s AVA had tested and aprroved it. Every single chunk. And he himself and Tatara-san had taken it over a few days with sake. And they are still alive. haha..

So I gathered my courage and pop a piece into my mouth. hmmm… ok, the taste was salty. texture was like dried roe.. Goes really good with sake!

Oh well, i’m still alive. lol.. It’s hell of a chance to have tasted it. Moreover, they are NOT serving it at kuriya. It’s only for close personal friends… =)

Kelvin and Kuyizuka. Cheers!

cool huh.. It’s so hotel-look-alike..

2000sqf, 60ft long. 1.1million. How nice to be staying on a yacht…

i’m falling in love with the yachts… Can’t wait for the chance to go out sea!

Kingfisher had showcase there as well and a private party! Saw Callum, Loulou, Min, Annie, Audrey, Soo-hyun. We just conveniently join in with samuel and quin.. haha..

Morton's

The man is a year older today. He doesn’t have the practice of celebrating his birthday. But we still met up for dinner.

We headed to Morton’s @ Oriental Hotel for its Martini Specials…

Photobucket
It’s packed with people, as usal. We had to sit behind the bar, but it was surprisinly a good spot. =)

had some lychee martini and cosmopolitan.. was excitingly awaiting for the free beef burgers to be served. After being seated for 30minutes, I finally caught the servers bringing the huge plates into the den. Everyone grabbed for a few. It’s simply juicy and well marinated! yum yum..

We planned to have some steak at the restuarant but after looking at the prices and our half-filled stomachs, we decided to share a main at the bar. The poor girlfriend is broke at the month end and the birthday man had to get the bill.

Photobucket
Their signature onion bread. The sweet onion smell was so overpowering that everyone looked at us! The bread is extremely huge, bigger than my face! But I love it! It’s pipping hot from the oven and the butter melts when u slapped it on the suface. *yummy*

Photobucket
we ordered a lamp chop to share. medium-rare.. (The photo doesn’t do justice to it).
As i mouth down a piece of the succulent lamp with bits of mint jelly, i can’t help but to chew and go “mmm… mmm… mmm…” till the very last bit. It’s simply well-roasted, so delicious and juicy. *drools*

The portion is pretty huge, just enough for the two of us. We did not manage to finish the bread and I doggy-bag it for tml’s morning breakfast.. lol…

Photobucket
Now, im looking foward to dine in proper in its restuarant.. =)

Maybe when i get my first deal? (Ya, probably a few months down the road. Though I took up the offer but traning has yet to start. I’ve been slacking in office for the past few days doing nothing!!!)

pa-par-party time!

I was 10 minutes early on wednesday. On the dot yesterday. 10 minutes late today. -_-”

Nevertheless, i’m screaming out loud: EXAMS ARE OVER!!!

I’m hoping for some decent results to apply for my overseas exchange programme. bless me.

playing online mahjong at starbucks to kill time before i head to the salon for hair treatment.. and i’m LOSING BIG TIME!!! =(

taking up a new job scope next monday. doing something that i hate the most but it’s the only way to bring more money into my pocket if i can do it well.

I hate the idea of struggling more more digits in the bank account to pay for this and that. But i’m soooo trapped in it.

Draggo is such a funny guy.
I’m so amazed that he studied in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese.
Hopefully he stays longer in Tokoyo.
Hopefully we can plan for a vacation there next year.
Hopefully he has a room to spare.

People these days speak so many languages.
THREE seems to be the minimium digit.
I just paid for my French lessons at Alliance Francaise.
Kelvin is starting Russian lessons this week.
Edwin wants to go Italy and learn Italian.

How I wish my parents had sent me for various classes when I was young.

There are days that i feel so ugly.
I hate the haircut.
I hate my sleepy eyes.
I hate my clogged pores prone complexion.
I hate my braces.

statistics

though the semster is coming to end but statistics are haunting me! the past 2 lectures have been on statistical analysis.

normal bell-shaped curve
probability distribution
skewness
chi-square test
1 or 2 tailed test
confidence level
hypothesis test
Type I, Type II error
standard deviation
variance

Everything sounds familiar. Though i should be happy but i’m crying over the numbers.

I can’t recall anything about statistics. That’s like almost 3 years ago??? I’m going crazy by flipping through the past notes. Hoping it will trigger back bits and pieces and spare me on my memory work.

But the weather looks gloomy..

Just the other day, I wanted to use datascope to analysis a set of data. Mr. Teo was kind enough to book the lab for me since i encounter problems in downloading the trial version. Guess what.

I FORGOT HOW TO USE DATASCOPE!

I spent 2 hours in the lab struggling to import the data from excel sheet into datascope but no valid. -_-” And i guess i must have pissed off Wilber with the numerous calls.

I feel ashmad of myself.

period.
