got the bands off. and proceeded to the actual thingy. 1st of all, was to insert the metal rim around 2 of my molar teeth. I had to bite on a wooden stick several times to get the rim well-fitted on my tooth. In order for the bite to jump, my dentist put some GIC cement on my last tooth as that my upper and lower can meet. Next, he brush some liquid substance carefully on each of my tooth. Before placing the brackets on, he made pencil marks on each tooth to ensure accuracy. After the brackets were fixed on, he lined the wire across and uses the bands to secure it to my teeth.

tA-dA!! after 100mins of work, im ugly now.

no pain yet.. just uncomfortable coz it’s protruding. feels like wearing extra dentures… -_-” i can still pronounce my words properly but some effort is needed for certain words. i do look weird when i speak. haha, thank god graduation was before all these.

no solid food for the next few days. my guess is, no solid food for the next 2 weeks. It’s currently an open bite, my teeth doesnt touch each other. so no way i can chew my food.

this is the start, of the nightmare… try not to stare at my teeth when i speak ok? thanks. =)

the bands have been giving me difficulties in chewing my food. the pressure is intense and somehow, i lost the touch of chewing my food. =(

been surviving on soft food over the past few days. and i take a long time to finish my share.. haix. so much for wanting to savour the good food b4 my braces day.

he brought me to Kuriya @ Shaw Centre for dinner. Japanese food!

When he asked for recommendations from the staff, he kept stressing “soft food”.. lolx.

Sesame Tofu.. Thick Mousse-like texture filled with strong sesame taste and smell!
(Okinawa’s Peanut Tofu is still the best~)

Tuna fish with Japanese Yam.. The yam taste slimy but the combination with tuna is great!

Seasonal Sashimi.. There’s seasonal fish slices on the plate, swordfish, toro, salmon and sweet shrimp. (boiled prawns are still the best! raw prawns taste so mushy.)

and grilled brinjals and fish roe sushi as well…

Special sushi roll. Combination of soft shell crabs and dragon prawns. Yum yum. simply love it.! (craving for Rakuzen’s dragon roll…)

ending off with a dessert! green tea ice cream with red bean paste and rice balls. irresistible!!!! haha…

3 more days before braces… in other words, 3 more chances for good meals. ahhh… feeling like having italian food… parma ham.. mozarella cheese… pasta… mmm, yum yum…

headed down to zouk flea with amy. we spotted the Ben’s & Jerry’s van at the main entrance from far.

after purchasing a scoop of ice-cream each, we indulged in the strawberry cheesecake flavour like little girls. haha..

there were so many stalls inside.!! and it’s filled with hundreds of people, looking for good bargains. felt bitter as i tried applying for a stall but no luck in getting it. =(

we had a good time walking around, searching for nice stuffs. i managed to grab a few good bargains. 1 vintage tube dress, a black cute black mini dress, pretty green floral wedges and a bohemian tube dress.. all for $40!!! =)

both of us had a good chat. found out some similarities between our guys. haha, we’re kinda in the same boat…

he’s finally back!! met him at his place as he needed some rest. the usual jetlag. saw the photos he took. im amazed by the architectures in italy.. as well, the ferrari models. it was such a busy and packed trip that he only had time to grab some chocolates. and also, he bought me a paris bijoux hp strap. to make it sounds nicer, he claims the design is only exlusive to SIA onboard catalogue. but i think i have seen it in store before. haha. nevertheless, im very happy that he got me the gift. =)  

i arrived at the waiting area of the dentistry clinic @ 9.40am. my dentist walked out and brought me in @ 9.50am.

after reconfirmation with his supervisor, work began. for that 10 minutes, i became a teeth model. i had to hold the moulds and widen my mouth which would allow my dentist to take photos of my teeth. felt extremely uncomfortable, especially when he inserted the big slab of mirror into my mouth. =(

after which he began to take my front and side profiles. i was forced to wear hairband so that my ears can be seen. bOo.

the real work started when the “photoshoot” was over. He took out the rubberbands and carefully inserted them in between my teeth.. Felt a great pressure on my teeth. He did not managed to place one in and seek help from one of the supervisor. oh boy, he’s a tough guy. He twirled some floss and force the band in between my teeth. so painful!! my gum bleeded.

now, i have light blue bands at my 2 molars of each side…  

my dentist simply love my case as it’s classified as “Class 3″, which denotes a difficult case. he’s gonna use me for his exam presentation.

 anyway, he offered to give me a copy of the photos. -_-”

i did a silly thing earlier this afternoon.

after visiting Bali Tailors @ Peinsula, i walked briskly towards the mrt station, getting ready for my monthly facial session @ Far East. after i pass through the entry, i looked up for directions and instinctively walked towards the escalator that leads to the boon lay platform. when the train arrived, i happily hop in, found myself a seat and took out my book to read.

just as the train leaves raffles place and announce, “Next Stop, Tanjong Pagar”, den i realised i took the WRONG direction! *slaps my forehead* why the hell am i on the train to boon lay when i should be heading down to orchard. ahhhh.. i quickly alight at tanjong pagar den took the other train back. -_-” what was i thinking when i took the train man.. probably worried about the rubber bands tml @ nuh… eesshh..

count down to next friday… braces doom day!!!

just ended an overseas call from italy. he’s at the FERRARI factory now!!! guided tour.. posing with the latest models. i think it will look so much better with me posing there. lolx. =pPp they are gonna have meeting and dinner with the ceo and designer.. ahh… how i wish i could tag along.. =(

reflecting back, lots of changes have been happening in the past 4 months of my life.. completed the final semster of polytechnic.. ended a 3-years relationship, pulling through Uni applications, meeting and mixing with people of different levels, begin a new love, planning a business, achieving some recognition…

feeling a little tired on the ongoing changes everyday but in planning my schedule for the next 3 months, im seeing more to come…

putting on rubberbands next week and upper braces on the following week. finally, im starting the “fix-my-teeth” project. seriously, im feeling terrified. haix. probably leaving it as it is now may be better? i have no idea. shall see for myself in 2years time.

recently, im experience eye infections. after consulting the eye specialist, im put on eye drops and monitering my condition every now and then. nothing much serious but it’s taking a long time to recover. bounded with specs for the last 2 weeks. anyway, i’ll go for lasik surgery if my eyes are suitable. contact lenses have caused my eyes to droop. mild signs have started to appear. however, i have this feeling that i may not be able to go through lasik. in any case, i guess im turning into cosmetic surgery in a few years time…

heading back to school next week. i need some luck.!

my business plans seems to be going on track. read up alot, doing lots of sourcing, planning things out. will be busy setting things up for the next few weeks. i really want this to pull through… *prays*

uni is starting in aug.. i haven accepted any offers yet. i better start taking actions.. accept the offer, apply for hostel, bid for timetable, attend camps.

i guess this is what you call growing up.. facing decisions in life, taking up challenges. if i were to choose, i would rather go back to the study days… but oh well, we’ve to face it sooner or later.

the last book that i touch was Devil wears prada, however, apparently, i didnt even get through the first few chapters. and speaking of it, shobi, i need to return you the book. haha. probably on grad day ya…

just got myself a book to read when i returned from bangkok’s airport. Dan Brown’s Digital Fortress. currently, a quarter through the book and im loving the suspense and thrill of the story. somehow i relate back to the scenarios whenever im using the net these few days..  

looking forward to read Mitch Albom’s books soon. Eyeing on “Tuesdays with Morrie” and “For One More Day”. Now, i wonder where’s my Five people you meet in heaven… hmm…

BAngkok trip was pretty alright. Took thai-airways. seems that their service standards had dropped quite a fair bit. The new thailand airport is well-furnished, but i guess they could work on their signs. haha..

check-in @ Grand Diamond. took a walk at Pratunum. somehow, the weather wasnt good. it rained! my poor betula… haix.

headed to Central Mall for dinner. It’s a freaking huge shopping mall with 7 levels. Well organized and designed space. cOol.

the mall had a supermarket at the top floor. loved it there! the idea of the mart came from europe, where u get to dine in the supermarket. the ingredients all came from the counters.

we setttled for some good french and italian cruisine. haha.. had my fave mozarella cheese with tomatoes.

We decided to catch Spiderman 3 in Bangkok. caught the English version with sofa seats!! 200 baht only..

it was a good movie. the special effects and graphics were awesome. i just didnt like some of the fighting scenes. felt that it could be shot in a better way.

Day 2 was full madness of shopping? haha. headed to Pratunum in the morning. bought a fair bit of printed tshirts. checked out some label printing stores.

it started drizzling in the late evening. sianzzz… enjoyed an hour of foot massage in the hotel. (i missed the good old days in shanghai. haix.)

we went to central mall again. haha. yes, we’re in love with that place. had thin crust pizza, parma ham + hawaiian. and crab meat sphagetti tossed in olive oil and spices. fresh crab meat with well-prepared sphagetti = goodilicious~ yum yum.

after the hearty dinner, we cabbed down to banyan tree hotel. The rooftop open-air bar, Vertigo @ 59th storey. ITS BEAUTIFUL! what a mesmerizing view~ love it. experienced the same feeling as i was in shanghai. Nostalgic…

Day 3 was back to Pratunum. to see if i could get more stocks. oh well, i just hate the rain. was pouring like mad in the late afternoon. i nearly went barefoot as i didnt want my birks to get soaked in the filthy rainwater. luckily we manage to hop into a cabby.

i grabbed a mug of root beer float from A&W before we left for the airport. some curly fries as well.. yum yum.. missed it so much. New York New York sells root beer float @ $7.40!!! i got my A&W’s for about 1SGD. freak.

overall, had a good trip in bangkok. would be better w/o the rains. haha. found out more about the t-shirt printing. learnt to navigate myself around.. spent some quality time with kelvin. he was so busy with work for the past week that we didnt meet up.

lots of work for me now… gotta plan for so many things. business, braces, lasik surgery(if my eyes are suitable), ntu…

made a trip back to TP last friday. checking the cca booths. they did it in a carnival way unlike the past years where each cca group took turns to display the booths.  loved the burstling atmosphere! they even had the best displayed booth competition.

 had lunch @ Mensa with Trevor. i ordered the usual thosai with drumstick. the uncle saw me and shouted from the kitchen:”where are your friends? so long see you!” i was laughing and replied:”uncle, we graduate already!!”
