take a breather
sorry for the disappearance. I have been working non-stop since 20th feb.
Although I managed to escape from office for these 2 days, I’m unfortunately down with a bad sore throat and slight fever. And I still have some work on hand to complete before Monday comes.
Anyway, I will try my best to update. It has been an eventful month for me – so much tears of joy and unhappiness.
I will backdate my entries, so scroll down to read over the next few days!
Pore Free Days~
If you are a fan of Ettusais Skincare or you have been following the ambassadors’ blog for some time, you would know of Ettusais 3 steps cleansing regime: Cleanse -> Soften up -> Moisturize
My friends would ask me, “What about toner!? Wouldn’t your pores enlarge?”
Well, many girls are concerned with pores, especially on the nose and cheek areas. Enlarged pores can be caused by squeezing of acne and the unsaturated fatty acid in excess sebum.
Now, let Ettusais Pore Care Wash come to the rescue!
The way to combat enlarged pores is to banish dirt, be gentle with your skin and hydrate it well.
And the all-new Pore Care Wash equips itself with all of the above!
See me in action:
[Banish Dirt] The ultra fine foam lifts away impurities (unsaturated fatty acid) and fights acne with AC control oil.
[Gentle to Skin] It is extremely important to whip up thick creamy foam so that there is no friction on your face as you cleanse. Friction causes unnecessary stress to your skin, causing it to sag and enlarge the pores.
[Hydrates] With jojobar oil, it corrects and conditions rough skin. Plus the AC control oil forms a light and thin veil over the skin, ensuring the skin stays moisturized and protected!
After cleansing our face, remember to soften the skin with Version Up so that our skin is prepped for absorbing the most moisture from Aqua Shooter!
I have been using it for 2 months and there’s still 1/3 amount left in the bottle. I supposed each bottle could last for 3 months. The Pore Care Wash performs as well as the Gentle Wash and I noticed that it reduced my blackheads too! Although it may take a few times to master the foaming technique, but practice makes perfect!
Ettusais Pore Care Wash is retailing at $30. Do visit http://ettusais.sg or check it out in stores:

did the person who designed this card read his mind?
needlessly to say, i teared so much.
and every drop was happiness.
sparks off
I would love to show the full 1 minute fireworks but the file size will be gigantic.
And it was such a disappointment that the sound got removed by Windows Live Movie Maker.
Kelvin took it on the 4th night of CNY, right below my block. Everyone was just firing fireworks into the sky to welcome the arrival of the God of Fortune once it strikes midnight.
It was a lovely sight on the highway when we cab home. Fireworks shooting up everywhere at our eye level.
Something that we won’t get to experience in Singapore.
刹那间的烟花带着一丝丝的希望。
Ettusais 2010
The 2009 Ettusais journey had been such a wonderful experience for me.
And my heartfelt congrats to Holly, Zoe and Sarah for winning the top 3!
At the same time, I’m really delighted to be branded once again as Ettusais Ambassador!!!
For 2010, there’s an addition of Adeline, Jacelyn and Jayne.
Welcome onboard girls! Can’t wait to meet up with you girls when I’m back.
(p.s. jayne, you might have seen me around at the cs benches.)
I hope 2010 will be a better year for all of us and more interaction with my dear readers.
Although i’m 2336miles away from Singapore, I will still share with you on my reviews and do my best to answer to your queries on Ettusais’ products!
the red wine, the puke, the drip
On the 2nd day of CNY, I had lunch with my distant relatives. A group of people whom my parents probably have not met before as well.
I drank a little too much – bottoms up 4 glasses of red wine.
And I started puking all over when I left the restaurant. I wasn’t that drunk as I could bring myself to the toilet and I did remember that I have a train to catch in the evening.
So, I tried very hard to keep myself sober, packed my luggage and insisted on taking the train.
Thankfully, I made it to the station on time though i was feeling really terrible.
Somehow, I felt so stressful, lonely and disappointed in myself when I stood by the platform.
It was cold and as the chilly wind blew against me, I broke down into tears but I managed to calm myself down just before the train stopped in front of me.
During the train journey, I felt so nausea and puked twice – there wasn’t anything left to puke and therefore, it was my gastric juices.
At that moment, I knew I wasn’t drunk. I supposed I had gastric flu.
I pulled myself together and endured till Shanghai. Luckily, I got a friend to pick me up from the train station and drove me to the hospital.

And there, I got my fair share of the drip. 2 bottles.

I needed to recover in the fastest time possible. To be able to spend time with Kelvin. =)

local CNY
What do I do in Wen Zhou for CNY? eat, watch tv, sleep, eat, watch tv, sleep.
Practically a weight-gain program.
It’s kinda boring…. except for the fireworks and the huge red packets I received. =p
Last night, we went out to get the fireworks for the strike of midnight.
This cart of fireworks cost around $700.

Preparing for the firecrackers.

Kids happily playing with the sparkles.

I had my fair share of firing the fireworks. Feels darn good. haha..
I should probably attempt firecrackers the next time.!!!
last night with Jaan
My last night in Singapore before leaving to Shanghai.
The choice was Jaan at Swisshotel. It was an initimate setting with not more than 15 tables.
Swirling the rosé wine in our glasses, such in luck that they have rosé.
And toast to a good internship in Shanghai.
We opted for the degustation set.
Starting off with Amuse Bouche. Prawn sashimi with (I think) plum sorbet.
The combination may sound weird but the taste was amazingly compatible.
We knew it would be an enjoyable evening.
“Fogotten vegetables” autum version, ocean trout confit in citrus oil, arbequina olive oil sorbet.
I do wonder why it’s named “forgetten vegetables”.
All the pieces came in mini-size, so exquisite that I spent some time admiring the symphony and I didn’t know where to start. When I went on the first piece, Kelvin was already half-way through. And we have fun guessing which one was the olive oil sorbet.
Grilled tuna belly, smoked basil oil and aromatic charcoal powder.
Nothing can go wrong with Otoro, simply wonderful.
In the menu, it wrote “Truffle or Foie Gras upon arrival”.
To our delight, it was truffle and foie gras. The strong rich truffle mousse totally blew me off. And the pairing with foie gras sandwiched with the crisp is just so awesome. (oh no, I’m craving for it now….)
Marbie body baked in salt crust, “Emilie” crab bouilion and its crispy rissole.
One word – “Fresh”!
Slow roasted “Pre sale” lamb saddle, wild rice carbonara and liquidized sweet peas.
This was slightly anti-climax. The previous dishes were probably too outstanding.
This one didn’t shine out much. We still love the lamb racks in Bangkok Central.
Pre-Dessert – Brandied Cherries
Dessert de la Saison – rich chocolate cake. So yummy.
Le Petit Fours – the berries popsicle coated with white chocolate is so refreshing.
Such a great dinner. I would love to be back for another round.
Oh well, i’m missing Kuriya and Wahiro.
And the Tanjong Pagar mee sua and chendol.
Plus my mommy’s cooking….
Happy 2010!
This is extremely late, and I just have to get it posted before CNY.
I’m now typing this post on the train to Wen Zhou for CNY, which allowed me some free time to edit the photos. My laptop battery better last me till the end of this post!
Countdown was more than a month ago. The days are getting passed faster each year. Our initial plan was to bar-hop for the night but I went against it. We were hosting a Russian friend – Igor, and so we decided to start out with dinner at Inna’s place, having it the Russian way.
I was baffled at why they are decorating the Christmas tree on 31 Dec – it is so a Russian tradition.
Sergey was the chef for the night. I was amazed that this man can cook! Haha.
Some starters for the dinner – those mini sized whole cabbage is a tradition Russian dish.
Take a peep into the cheese fondue. Added with white wine for the extra omph~ super yummy!
I enjoyed dipping the bread, the cabbage, and the cold cuts into it. Yummy yummy.
Diet plans? Oh well, another day. Haha..
With Russians around, how could we miss out on authentic Russian vodka?
The dinner was excellent with the ever-flowing of vodka and food plus the jokes and laughter.
Sergey insisted on popping the champagne at midnight.
Such a cute act, standing in front of the TV, waiting for the 3, 2, 1.
Happy 2010!
It’s amazing how fate works. These 2 russian men, went to the same middle school back in Russia – different years though. And only here in Singapore, they met each other, on New Year’s eve! Just so coincidental!
After the countdown, we headed off to Attica to party on. However, the photos are too unglam! Haha. I’m not gonna show it here.
Alright, just one. Thanks guys for the great night! ![]()
escape the cold

thankfully, i’m heading out of shanghai.
google me
A friend of mine felt gulity and confessed that he googled me.
I guess he was concerned that I might not be aware of what’s there on the internet.
Seriously, i’m cool about people googling me. I know what’s there out on the net, nothing unethical or whatsoever. I’m not famous and there’s nothing much about me anyway.
He claimed and stressed that he saw the MSU09 stuffs only.
However, I find it extremely dubious.
So, Mr. Friend, if YOU are reading me, you better own up soon or pray that I will never find out about it.
I hate it when people 睁着眼睛说瞎话.
There’s nothing wrong to read me, so why do you want to cover it up?
I got pissed off at dinner earlier this evening.
We brought 4 bottles of red wine, 2 cabernet sauvignon and 2 merlot.
The waitress just had to open a bottle of each and poured without taking note of it.
(Hello~ You don’t mix 2 different bottles of wine in the same glass.)
If this didn’t happen, the company dinner would have be excellent.!
