Lash Diary Prelude

Last week, the ambassadors received this from Ettusais:

Poor thing, we have gotta help out in finding the Lost Lashes!

So the ambassadors gathered at the office this evening, and began the search for the Lost Lashes.

We were given a thorough brief by the Police woman on how did the lashes went missing. It was indeed an informative session and we were even horrified by some of the contents!

Next, we continued our hunt and chanced upon a treasure chest by following the path.

It’s a treasure filled with goodies for our eye lashes~

Follow on, we made a pledge to take good care of our lashes and say no to falsies for the next 5 days.

Here’s the ambassadors with their pledge! :D

So stay tune to my blog over the next 5 days for my Lash Diary entries! :)

Experimental Taste

I still drool over macarons whenever I see them and I miss La Duree badly.

Last night, we headed over to Bukit Timah for Le Bon Marche and I found an interesting dish in the menu.

“Foie Gras Macaron”

hmmm… so, is it a gimmick? Foie gras + macaron?? How weird would that be!

Given our curiosity, we gave it  shot.

Wow, it’s really MACARON, huh…

A thin piece of foie gras was sandwiched between the almond crust with a dip of salted caramel.

Upon taking the first bite, my eyes lit up!

My my… The taste is amazing. It’s salty, melts in the mouth, sweet with the crunch in the crust, plus an after-taste of the foie gras.

It’s like Pierre Hermes + La Duree.

I think the crust was really well-done and complimented on it.

Who knows, they served us the poached prunes with ice-cream and topped it up with a macaroon crust! ;)

time of the month

It’s time of the month again… ☹

Every girl is tortured by this monthly visit and I’m sure guys hate the volatile mood swings from us.

Besides cramps and mood swings, the one other most irritating issue is ACNE!

I always, always get bumps around my forehead and my chin. They may be good signals to warn me about my period, but if there’s a choice, I rather not have the acne warnings.

I turned to Ettusais for help and they recommended the Medicated Acne Pre-Care Sheet~ I have noticed this product for the longest time and I just didn’t have any idea what it did.

But NOW, it has topped my chart and become my favourite acne fighting product! :D

“Pre-Acne Care Sheet”!!??

They are “mini-mask”, shaped like a band aid (haha, cute!) with 3 cuts to fit the curves on the face. This is best use when you feel a zit is coming. Just put these sheets on to the affected area(s) and it helps to calm the area down with peony essence, preventing the zits from getting inflamed.

The sheets are store in a nice container and furthermore, it comes along with a tweezer!

All you need to do is to pick up the sheets one by one (using the tweezer) and put over affected areas for just 10 minutes, as your last step of your skincare regime! If you wanna fight acne caused by menses, it is recommended to use daily for 2 weeks just before you period. :)

Alternatively, it works well on my bumps caused by stress too~ (The awfully painful ones near the eye brows.)

The Medicated Pre-Acne Care Sheet is retailing at $49 for a box (50 sheets) and the refills are at $37.

Ippudo~

Last night, I had the most wonderful ramen @ Ippudo.

How should I describe it? The pork-flavoured stock was astonishingly stunning! The flavour was rich and fragrant, the ramen was well-cooked to the right springy texture.

It’s just super yummy lah! The flavoured egg is my favourite tooooooo~

I think I had the Shiromaru or Akamaru.

Kelvin had Seasonal Ramen – Kyushu Miso Tokotsu!

We ordered garlic to go along and oh boy, we were surprised when it was served to us!

Each clove of raw garlic was nicely peeled and a crusher was provided.

We crushed the garlic ourselves! :D

Kelvin had a great time doing it, like a kid playing with a new toy. lol.

Floral Fresh~

Hello! I’m back from Ettusais Photoshoot. Looking forward to see the spread in CLEO in mid September! ;)

Can you still remember last year’s photoshoot? Haaha… I was in a bikini for the Ettusais Aroma Body Wash and White Body Mist products.

Anyway, Ettusais is introducing a limited fragrance (Floral Fresh) for the Aroma Body Wash! Hee. Check it out in my bathroom!

The floral fresh scent smells sooooo re-freshing! Think rose, cherry blossom, water lily, kiwi and vanilla~

This Aroma Body Wash helps you to relieve stress through the scents and effectively prevent adult acne on the chest and back! It contains “acne- septic” and anti-inflammatory ingredient, which prevents acne by suppressing the growth of acne-causing bacteria.

Another product that you can use to counter adult acne on chest and back is the Medicated Acne White Body Mist.

It contains AC control oil that fights acne bacteria and at the same time, with whitening properties, which controls the formulation of melanin and lightens acne scars.

This bottle spray is easy to use and it even sprays upside down, making it so convenient for application on the back!

The Medicated Acne Aroma Body Wash retails at $34 with 2 fragrances to choose from – Floral Fresh (limited edition) and Floral Fruity. While the Medicated Acne White Body Mist retails at $38.

Check out www.ettusais.sg or visit the counters to indulge in the floral affair! :)

Congee & Roast Meat

The best way to travel around HK is by MTR and by foot. Upon arriving at the airport, we got our hands on the airport express train and MTR cards. It’s so convenient!! :)

IMG_1012e

HK is truly a food paradise and we have got the HK Food Bible! But sadly, we didn’t manage to visit any of those stores due to complicated reasons.
IMG_1015e

Anyway, after check-in at East Hotel, they provided us a guidebook to eating places in the area. We went to check out this local 茶餐厅, located just a street away.

Piping hot congee with pork liver and kidney, plus an egg yolk. *slurps*
IMG_1021e

Ordered roast meat, roast goose and roast duck.
IMG_1017e

The roast goose is definitely 2 thumbs up!!

I brought Kelvin to this place where I had been in my previous trip. It’s one of the 避风塘 franchise in Jordan.
IMG_1053e

I so love the roast duck kway teow soup!!! :D Although I felt that it tasted much yummier at my previous visit, but it’s still delicious. The soup broth is speechless~
IMG_1052e

We went for Dim Sum @ Paramount. You should not miss this! It has a great view and the dim sum are really good and at affordable price!

Cleaning the utensils with hot water – a local practice. I do wonder why.
IMG_1076e

IMG_1082e

I kinda pity this uncle. He has been sitting there before we arrive and he was still waiting for his friend when we left.  He even had tea poured for his friend. All he did was to sip some tea and gaze at the entrance.
IMG_1086e

Caffee Habitu. We liked the fonts and the combination of nude pink with black.
IMG_1147e

my cappuccino, as always.

East Hotel @ Taikoo

Accommodation plays a huge part in my travels. I would definitely opt for a friend’s place whenever possible as I believe that’s one of the ways to see city as it is.

We all know how packed Hong Kong is and how people live within tight spaces. Therefore, hotel was a necessary expense.

I’m glad Kelvin chose a wonderful hotel for our short stay. Initially, I was turn off by the location of East Hotel – Taikoo, far east side of Hong Kong Island.

But when we arrived, I was more than pleased with it. =)

Firstly, it is easily accessible by the MTR with an exit just next to the hotel.

IMG_1040e

Secondly, the minimalist design gave a refreshing feel to the getaway.

Thirdly, the counter staff uses MAC book!

IMG_1041e

IMG_1042e

IMG_1177e

Fourthly, I love these butterflies cut-out on the walls!! :D
IMG_1172e

IMG_1173e

Fifthly, how cool is it to have lighted signs!
IMG_1024e

IMG_1026e

This is an art piece at the level we stayed. Looking closely, you will noticed that the graphics on the circles are actually photos! Eg: Apartment windows, clouds, leaves, bricks.
IMG_1025e

The only thing that dampen my spirits was the proximity of the public housing to the hotel. Take a peek through the blinds.
IMG_1141e

Lastly, my favourite of the hotel – outdoor bar!
Check out the captivating scenery in the evening!
IMG_1101e

The bartender’s recommendation. Some honeydew cocktail. Taste yummy!

Look at that reluctant expression, coming back to Singapore.
That’s about 40KG that I carried back.

Even before I get my butt seated properly, I’m heading out again tomorrow!

To the shopping, food & entertainment paradise – Hong Kong~

Aqua Splash

Are you perspiring madly whenever you step out of the house and you start to worry about your makeup getting smudge within a few hours? Well, I do.

It definitely feels great to be home since the temperature rose to 39 degrees during my last week spent in Shanghai. However, I must say the humidity beats the heat.

I am a combination skin type and the hot humid weather isn’t contributing any good to my skin. Instead, it is makes it prone to produce more sebum than usual.

More sebum = More blotting = More touch up!

Therefore, I bring along Ettusais Aqua Splash whenever I’m out for long hours.
DSC00054e

Ettusais Aqua Splash uses 100% refined water and contain white porous powder that helps to absorb the excess sebum, keeping the skin matt and prevent visible pores. The chamomile extract lowers the skin temperature to regulate the sebum production.

Simply hold the bottle 15cm away, spray it over the face and smooth with your palm.

Check out www.ettusais.sg or visit the counters for the spray-on touch up!

Packing & Unpacking

IMG_0779e

It was definitely heart-warming to take SIA. I arrived back in SG last night.

I never expect myself to accumulate so much stuffs in 7 months. Packing was a disaster – had to send by sea, courier some to HK and SG and carry back so much for the return flight.

Packing was probably just peanuts as the nightmare has just begun!

UNPACKING~

How am I gonna fit 70kg of stuffs into my tiny little room. You can just imagine how much things will I be throwing away.

I guess I will do up a Sales page soon to let go of my stuffs.

Pore Check

Knock knock~
The courier came to deliver a parcel!
P1090555e

It’s a box filled with Ettusais goodies! =)
P1090557e

Time for Pore Check!
DSC00053e

Cleansing the skin properly is the first step to reduce enlarged pores. Remember my entry on the Pore Care Wash earlier this year? How’s your experience with the wash? I’m still loving it! It is a milky type cleanser that foams up easily and cleanses the skin and removes unsaturated fatty acid and excess sebum, to keep enlarged pores at bay.
pore care wash

Besides a good cleanser, using a good proper makeup remover is also very important, especially when we are applying makeup everyday.
P1040761e

Ettusais Gentle Make Off removes makeup easily, quickly and effortlessly~ Simply dispense 3 pumps of gentle make off, spread it gently across the face and rinse thoroughly with water! It leaves no oily after-feel and there’s no need to cleanse your face again with a cleanser.
gentle makeoff

If these are not enough to counter your enlarged pores concern, here’s a new award-winning product from Ettusais that will help you say goodbye to pores!

Ettusais Pore Care Serum.
DSC00051e

It contains newly formulated pore-shrinking ingredient that emerged as the Grand Prix Winner at International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists.

What does the pore-shrinking ingredient do?

- Stops blemishes

It also contains AC-Control oil that moisturizes and fights acne bacteria.
DSC00047e

Simply apply the serum around the area of concern after using your moisturizer. Remember to dap on using your third or ring finger.
DSC00049e

And in no time, watch your pores go *proof*.

The Pore Care Serum retails at $54.
